Took about thirty shots to get that one as the clouds flew over. Bit of edit work in it though to bring out the impact of the mountain a bit better. I think I previously posted this shot somewhere on here unedited as I didn't know how.
Personally love it mate! The mountain pulls me to head tilt left yet the clouds bring it all back to perfection;-)
Thought it may be a good place to share my "Limb Mode" pics with you of this mornings greeting as I headed out to start unpacking from a few days away up the mountains. Veh came out with only a couple of scratches which blend in OK.
Bloody lucky, or unlucky! Many years ago we were coming across the top of the Butcher Country Track in Vic high country and arrived at the scene of a tree branch that had come down on a guy and his family sheltering from the heat. Luckily, or not, they had yet to get out of the vehicle and it fell right on top of their landy. Main branch that hit the car was about 6" diameter. Funny thing was it must have been a soft landing as it barely made any impact, but by the time we stopped to getting it clear of the roof it took a good hour. This was in the middle of summer, in the middle of the day, not a breath of wind either - weird how the planets align. Glad you weren't hurt.
Yeh, initially got quite a shock but was very relieved as no physical damage was evident. Live amongst some timber and they do fall when conditions are calm and dry as it was at the time of branch fall. I parked it where I did so to hopefully avoid tree fall damage due to high winds experienced over the past few days.
The bottom branch fork broke on impact and softened the blow and must thank the roof rack.
