No worries mate, just have to do your apprenticeship in Radio Communications though. I heard the government promotes hiring adult apprentices.

Our faithful contractor mate arrived home safely with a single 17 tonne trailer load of some very sought after hot logs.

Firewood is new dunny paper in Mexico these days, we’ve canned greedy bugger orders and only allowing 1m3 each for all to share as best is rarely available.

It's a good feeling hey mate. Very rewarding job, I love firewood season.

There is a firewood season? I do it when ever I can and when ever the wood is free.... Does this mean I can have a weekend off at some stage??? *L*
Farken so much easier and quicker now with the log splitter, that for sure, no way i would of cut that and then split in one weekend before hand using the old hand splitter.
Still feels rewarding, when it keeps the family warm :)
Yeah preferably firewood collection season is outside of firewood burning season.

Thursday night it's hit up night haha! Eels and Rabbits tonight. Don't go for either but always a good watch the NRL. :D
Picked up an old new addition for the shed today. Grabbed a box of scrap and made a 4mm bench top. Big plus was I found a 8mm plate that the old owner left behind.
After a bit of moving things around I'm set up a bit better now.
Almost ended in the angry threat.
So we rearranged a few things at work the other day. One being this pedestal drill, that we haven't used in years. I said to my team leader "I'm going to ask the boss if I can take it, we don't use it and it keeps on slipping, probably needs adjusting or new belts." Boss gets back to me "yeah you and have it, it doesn't owe us anything".
Sweet, I thought. Later that day I walked pass to see if it was bolted to the bench or just sitting on there and noticed that the vice was now missing. Long story short, my team leader swiped it and had it under his bench ready to take home. After I approached him he eventually gave it up, but not without making a big song and dance how I owe him and he's doing me a favour. He kept on making excuses for most of the day how he just playing with me , then it was how he wanted it and I'm getting a drill for nothing so I should give him the vice and I should buy a vice.
All this from a 62 year old man, with multiple properties.
F@#$en immature tight ass. He actually told one of the other guys that he wanted the drill but never thought of asking for it because the boss would never give anything away.
F him. This time I won and he lost...http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...020/08/163.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...020/08/164.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...020/08/165.jpg

Good score. You never know without asking [emoji106]
Out of interest, how is the vice fixed to the plate on the drill press?
Having collected over the years little 12v Engels, Waeco’s, Trailblaza’s and a new Bushman 285L.
23 hours and counting without 240v storm grid power now and our precious frozen protein goodies will surely survive [emoji106][emoji106]

We had to buy a new fridge during this years blistering summer, it has paid off. When power came back on it tells a set temp.and current temp. Over the 24 hours without power only lost 2 degrees overall. I'm stoked. Nothing has been wasted

Must be lucky on our side of the hill, power browned in and out and went or for a brief few seconds but kept going. . . Thinking a genie might be a good investment one day lol. .

Storm power is back on again since Friday (3 days earlier than list predicted) thanks to the likes of team @Hodge Legends out there working around the clock!
Quite impressed with the fuel economy of these cheapo backup Kingys.

Kept the Coonara fans spinning all night last night on only half a tank.
Still time me thinks to aim towards a full off-grid appliance and solar/battery system for home as we do experience this far too many times yearly.

Helped a farmer mate today to clear a paddock of a giant tree. I wish I got a photo of it, it was a monster and my saw was not big enough. It required a 30 inch bar on a 660 attacked from both sides and an old fergy to shift the weight of the beast tree.

"will my 2wd Navara on road tyres get through the paddock mate?"
"yeah yeah no dramas at all mate...... Ohhhhh maybe not that bit"

Nice mate. I rounded up some neighbours yesterday and split up about 30m of messmate from another neighbour. Measured by trailer loads, it was 12 fully overloaded 7x4 trailers. Everything was split with a hydraulic 3000psi splitter nothing stopped it. Massive day but everyone now has next winters timber sorted, or at least most of next winters

Yep was good when the last one hit the ground, she was leaning back towards house (8m away)_dead timber, took up cable slack and held pressure while did step cut, with Vicki on the winch remote, put saw down went and jumped in GU, gave it a good persuasive backup haul and all was good(Split down the vertical grain between top/bottom cut(my Dad taught me that one_the heel keeps the log from slipping back off).
Wind brought one down few nights back, clipped the hose spouting (so pushed it back in shape), smashed up fence so just had to do the others.
So much rain here last month, dam/creek has been running thru 3 weeks now and tree roots just let go.
Yeah I noticed that felling cut, haven't seen that one before.
