The upside is, I now have a couple of bearings left over. 1 Holden small and 1 Ford large. I'll take 'em to the meet up. First one in can snaffle them.

Well not quite today, but I now have 2 cars with broken autos.
Clubsport has lost 2 gear very common in these boxes.

A pain in the arse, but keep checking your cars' rego. I got done today at Elhmurst of all places. 3 weeks overdue rego. I looked it up. I think its over a grand for the fine. FFS. Have been informed that quite a few people have been stung since their notification is via Email.
BRING BACK REGO STICKERS!!
I got done a few years ago. Same situation as you.
I wrote an angry letter stating that the rego sticker previously acted as a secondary method to remind me when my rego was due, and asked them to inform me of what secondary method of notification they had implemented in its place.
I also said that the police used to give warnings, but they are now required to issue a fine once they stop you for an infringement.
My opinion to the state was that this appeared to amount to entrapment and I felt the fine was unjustly high being around the same cost as 1 full year of registration.
They waived the fine and I got a warning not to allow it to lapse again for the next 2 years.

Yeah I'll see how it goes. Even private companies send a reminder of late payment. When I got home, I found the postal bill had been tucked behind a receipt so it got overlooked. I am bloody glad I didn't crash or get hurt, or hurt anyone else, as non-payment means being uninsured by the state.
The bloody overdue notice was in the post this morning. How ironic.
