Pretty disappointed with the mob that I dropped over $1500 in parts.
I did have an issue with the tie rod ends. The picture is of the note that was in the packaging. I put grease in as stated and black grease came out of the rubber boot. The grease that I was using was red. This tells me that the ends were already greased.
Their response.
They usually have some assembly grease in them and need a complete grease upon fitment.
So I went to Bursons and brought another one. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum.../2024/03/4.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum.../2024/03/5.jpg

Just received a fine for doing 46km/h in a 40 zone.
Not in a school zone by the way, just driving through the main street of Shepparton.
Bloody lucky they caught me before I killed the general public with my reckless behaviour.
I know the feeling. I had an immaculate record with over 20 years of drivers license (at the time) without a single occurrence. Then out of nothing, on a road I drive every day, I got a fine for doing 67 on a 60 zone. And the radar equipment had a 10% tolerance margin, so if it were 66, it would have been disconsidered due to being inside the error margin...
Yep I got one a few years back, about the same speed as well. I read the ticket and it actually said that the 10% variation was removed and the stated speed on the ticket is the actual speed minus 10%.
I couldn't complain as this street was somewhere I'd complained that they needed to change the speed from 60 down to 40 as it's busy and very tight. Little did I know, they actually had changed the speed limit.
Well it keeps on going.
The wife's outlander needs a new radiator, the worst part is that the hoses are going to be more than the radiator itself. No one has all three in stock, thought I'll try my luck with a Mitsubishi dealer. $270 and they will need to order them in as well. The radiator was only $130.
Then there's the low oil pressure on the troll. I can hear the engine coming good when the light goes out at around 1300rpm. Looks like it's going to need a fresh set of bearings and I still need to take in for the A/C and the trailing arm bushes to get my pre trip inspection..
It's f@#$ken hot [emoji3508][emoji3508][emoji3508] this weekend and I've been at it the last couple, next weekend is also out. Wanted to have everything sorted at least 4 weeks before the big trip and haven't even started on the extras to make the trip more comfortable..
For now f#$k it this is my long weekend.
Cheers all[emoji482]

I can't remember if yours is a TB or TD. Not fuel diluted oil causing low pressure? Or crap in the oil pickup or filter?
I am wondering around the oil pump and it being worn on the basis when the pressure increases the engine comes good? I did have a subaru that did the same thing - sorry similar - and it was valve guide stems seals of all things . I would change the pressure transmitter first, look at oil condition - assuming you have not changed anything, the ambient temps where the behaviour starts. Unsure where the oil pump is and if you can get to it . For a test you could add an oil fortifier to make it thicker and see if the pressure increases and improves? Just cant put the bearings into the picture??
[QUOTE=mudnut;844259]Tb mate.
The last things I did was rocket cover gasket and new coolant. After that I started it up to get it up to temperature and burp the system and that's when it started.
I put new oil (20-50) and filter no change. I could take out the pick up and clean it out..

Haven't left a bit of rag inside the the rocker cover, or had a bit of sealant get into the engine. Since it only started after you had the cover off.
Hi mate, you tried Partsouq?
https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genu...0&gid=&cid=&q=
Sorry to do that to you, but after years in the maintenance game, I've seen and heard of tools, parts and rags being left after repairs.
Thanks gents. You got me thinking.
I'm going back to what I had. The oil pressure switch that I took out had 2 sensors one for the dash oil light and one for an aftermarket gauge that I removed a while ago. Mechanic picked oil switch because there was a lot of oil residue and road grime around them mainly around the aftermarket one. I cleaned them up, refitted the teflon tape and went for a 1/2 drive all good. No oil leaking, no oil light and no noisy engine.
Now back to the beers and pool..

Getting woken early to have to set up the generator for the second time in a fortnight. Must be living in a third world country. Yes, it is more likely to happen on a Single Line Earth Return system, but FFS. We used to have the best government -run public services in the world.
Had the windows tinted today, heading back tomorrow to get them repaired after the old film shit was left on part of one window - like FM, really, where is the care these days. I get to waste another 3 hrs chasing this down. not happy.
Constant back pain is getting me down, 2am and I can't sleep.
I’m feeling you Tony Brother (non-sexually) [emoji22]
No doubt you’ve explored all external influences too, shit mattress, shit car seat, biological degradation, not enough exercise like old me?
Do have a Top Level decent Quack-Surgeon (Mr/Dr) here in Victoriastan if you’d like to quiz him on possible relief plans [emoji120][emoji736]

First time in my life my credit car got compromised last night and they took $3,500 in a matter of minutes damn it!
I got suckered by a Harvey Norman scam on Facebook, only lost $3 but cancelling the card is a headfuck.
New staff at work that think they know how to do everything.
I set up the guillotine for him to use, explained to him the basics, start stop emergency stops and reset and watched him cut a few pieces.
Walked past a few minutes later to him standing at the back watching the backstop moving out on side only. I saw that and broke the safety curtain to stop the machine. By this stage it was at a 45 degree angle.
Guys a 51 Year old ex mechanic, so I thought he would've been alright.
That's the left hand side that's been twisted and the 24mm cap screw.. https://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/foru...2024/03/43.jpghttps://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/foru...2024/03/44.jpg

NOT seeking praises or likes here [emoji2961]
A crazy long Easter Holidays weekend again though, did have to assist a young family returning home precariously broken down with a say 6.0T+ setup 3/4 of the way up our skinny dangerous hill climb [emoji22]
No less than 10L of diesel was merely needed and education of how to hand prime its Hilux air out .
Poor buggers were previously abused, nearly killed many times, please DO ALL slow down and smell the Roses/Gumtrees [emoji3590][emoji3590]

Spent 6 hrs swapping out a defective booster pump on my interchiller circuit, only to find the replacement is farked as well - two brand new pumps, magnetic drives instead of direct coupled - advise to steer clear of these Davies Craig units - bloody rubbish.
Now have to find a robust full duty cycle 12v positive displacement pump to fit into a pre-engineered cubby hole - not happy. A previous encounter with a 150LPM pump from them delivered 6LPM - yeah , pretty close.
Drove home from Flinders Ranges today and nothing made me angry, don't get angry when towing with Y62.
