Yep thinking good winter project, going to sneak in a few more trips before it's retired then get stuck into it. Haven't got a timeline but wasn't too very it back on the road as soon as possible hopefully by spring.

Thinking paint, sound deadening, turbo, airbox, 4 inch Snorkel, seats, do it all in one. .

Yeah have a bit in the kitty been doing well at being a serious tight arse this year so far! !

Surprised at how cheap the cab from patrolapart was, was thinging sourcing something on ebay or gumtree would have been the best but good old patrolapart! Don't have to take off 2 cabs either just pick this one up as a shell. The biggest thing is painting, if I could paint would save a few pennies but all good. .

Yeah imagine it's not going to be a small undertaking! ! ,expect to learn a fair bit tho looking forward to it Always wanted to do a rebuild on something. Would love to do everything beutifully but need to win tatts to do that i reckon. . .

@Rossco a body off resto makes a lot of sense lets say it costs $15k all up just saying
at the end you'll have a brand new Patrol with all your mods on it.
IMHO a better idea than forking out $25k on a GU again just saying.
Hopefully mine will be going and I can give you a hand [pass drinks] lol

Piece of cake, Rossco. Have a go at spraying it yourself. It's actually not that hard. And it'll cost you $1500 instead of $15 k for the body work.

Paint it matt cammo. You could do that with a brush and not worry about the finish.

Hmm maybe, have had a bit of a go before painting workout great success but would like to do as much as possible at least to reduce costs. Have a panel beater mateish who I've spoken to he's reasonably happy to do it for a reasonableish price. . .

Yeah that's what i was thinking. It was either upgrade to a gu or something and get bugger all for the gq or ripp some poor bugger off. Want it to be a nice car after this, capable comfy tourer really. . .
