Went Lure fishing on the tweed river in Chinderah yesterday.
What a beautiful area indeed.
We got about 12-15 mediocre flatheads, some bream and other species, with 2 school jewies.
Sorry no pics at all.
I was pissing down rain practically all day, funny thing was when the rain stopped we weren't catching fish.
Such a hard life here in Noosa. LOL
Last night had our first fish on the river.
Got a couple small flatties 30-35cm
And a couple grunting Bream.
Green with envy.
Spent a couple of hours this afternoon throwing around a couple of hard body prawn/shrimp imitation lures after the tide had turned with very little success except for one little cod but the fight was great on very light gear.
Draingb one of our dams to add an extra 3 mtrs on the wall, pulled 60 kilo of marron out of it and a heap of redfin perch..and to our supprise a silver perch..we pump up from a crek that is next to ponds and I think their fish have escaped..lol
they sold em all......that's how I know the weight.still got 2 dams here I scoop for them.
King George whiting anyone.

Was being used for bait.
Had a great Australia Day having a picnic with friends at Lake Daylesford, with a little fishing involved.

Bait fishing with four rods, both me and Zoran couldn't get a bite all morning.
When bringing one of Zoran's rods in using Powerbait for trout, he had hooked up a yabbie.
So I peeled the tail and put it back out to get the only bite all day.
However I was flicking a Salta Cocktail most of the afternoon to only get one small reddie.

Whilst walking around the banks flicking the Salta around, I noticed a dark shadow in the water and soon realised it was a big carp. We tried to get it to eat our bait but it wasn't interested in food what so ever.
It kept coming closer and closer to the edge where eventually it was close enough to lay on my stomach reach down and tried to grab the fish, I got my hand half way in its gills and tried to lift it out, it was half way out the water and was flapping around and got me drenched, I lost my grip and dropped it but quickly reached down and got a much better grip to pull it out.
Fishing Bear Grylls style.

Once I lifted it out of the water, all the picnickers behind us, around us and opposite us, all clapped and cheered. It was so funny, but spewing no one took any footage.
@ Mego I reckon you had them rolling on the grass peeing a little .

Just watching "Extreme fishing with Robson Green in China this time,
they were using egg beaters about 4000 series but they had a finger/hand brake on them
not a drag but a brake , tried looking but couldnt find one
I take it its just a drag and you play the fish how you see it at the time, good idea ,gimmicky for the market
The Wels cat fish was featured on "River Monsters".
But thats a horse of a fish, love to see the gear he used
They are smashing the marlin out of Lakes Entrance at the moment
Gee never knew that must be warm currents off the shelf moving down.
