Hey ET, whats the distance between the two?
Printable View
less than 10 minutes by vehicle apparently.
I haven't a clue how many sites there are at Dalhousie as I haven't been to either but Internet trolling, which can be unreliable, indicates
Dalhousie
Limited sites and full by mid afternoon
Sites become avail after mid morning as people depart and before others arrive
Camping is within short walk to springs
Limited Shade (if any)
Dunnies
Shower (says cold but I think they mean cold bore water which is warm)
3 Oclock Creek (is considered the Dalhousie overflow area when no sites left at Dalhousie)
No Dunnies
No Shower
Lots of Shade
Has a Shelter or something similar
Informal sites IE you can group up or spread out
Drinking water tank
Some regulars camp here first night and grab best avail site at Dalhousie next day
Other regulars stay here 'cause it's better camping and commute to the Spring as req'd
I'm happy with either option... just thinking it might be tough to get all of us in at Dalhousie
Depends if people are happy to wing it for a night at 3 O'clock if they get in later in the day and Dalhousie is full (or some just stay there and we can meet wherever for drinkies and lies till we bugger off)

Dalhousie Springs Campground – The campsite at Dalhousie Springs is a large very dusty area. There are different size bays suitable for single, a couple of campers or groups. Many of the sites have fire pits but you must bring your own wood in. There is a toilet block with toilets and cold showers. There is also parking for day visitors, short walk to the hot springs.
13kms up the Mt Dare road from Dalhousie. From a camping point of view better than Dalhousie but of course it doesn’t have the springs or toilets. But lots of tress and rocky ground so not as dusty but would be quieter and you can camp down by the river. Drinking water available.

I haven't been there since its all been segregated off but by the sounds of it and the event in birdsville we may have buckleys of fitting us all in there.
I guess if we can wing a spot to house us all whoever turns up first then great but looks like we may have to venture down to 3 o'clock.
I reckon Darren, Winnie, Rossco and I will be there early as we are leaving on Thursday and no doubt we will soldier on for an easy Sunday arrival.
I camped at Dalhousie for a night July 2010 and it was packed.
We arrived late arvo and all the spots were taken so we blocked off part of the track between the sites with our cars and put our swags in-between, was not ideal.
Hi ET
The meetup was called for Dalhousie so that is where we should meet at this stage mate. There is a slim possibility that a random member may turn up as there is still a little interest in other threads.
Also to be honest I have No Idea where 3oclock is bud ;) we are actually heading up a couple of days earlier than the victorian School Holidays so may actually beat some of the crowd. Keen to sit in the hot springs for a bit too
Oh yeah imagine us chilling in the hot spring with a cold beer... Can't wait!!!
The above post I wrote a couple of hours ago and forgot to post it. Lol.
Dalhousie is actually quite large. Lots of coralled areas and a few will be there possibly a da early even and will grab an appropriate sized corale. We should be fine. It not then down the road we go lol.
I'll be in somewhere between Friday and Sunday depending on... depending on... uuuummmm... so many different things I can't think of them all.
I'm roughly planning on
Mon night - Niagra Dam
Tue night - Giles (morning tour and look around)
Wed/Thu/ maybe Fri - Yulara
maybe Fri/Sat nite - Dalhousie
