Whoa! They saw you coming! Was there any lettuce in the pie?

Thought you would compost your green waste.
This is all the excess vegetation from my young un's place. Clearing out shrubs and stuff so we can clean gutters etc. But still, just an expense that a young couple would have to fork out. So many weeds are taking over, because people just dump it all in the bush. It is infuriating.
Yeah it's a total disgrace that councils charge for green waste. I've got a heap on the ground at home I'm putting in every fortnight into the green bin instead of paying $$ to take it to the transfer station. Bloody hell they on-sell the green waste for compost, etc too, so people have to pay them to donate the material, they value-add it by chucking it through a mulcher, and then charge for people again to take the mulch away! What a business model!! Fair dinkum it's no wonder people dump stuff everywhere.
E-scooters. A menace on our roads and footpaths. Clueless people hire them and dump them wherever they please. Found this one in a local state forest recently… 😂😂😂Attachment 85674
Sneaky Footpath Assassins for sure Mick Mate [emoji23][emoji106]
True story, was working in China pre Covid and asked:
Q: “Why a lot of horrible smog ridden cities were banning them?”
A: “You can’t hear them coming up behind you on the footpaths or roads and people were getting seriously injured”
Q2: “What about Spockie Dockies or the Ace of Spades playing card and a clothes peg”
A2: WTF (in Mandarin) [emoji23][emoji23]

We've had several ended up thrown / landed from hi-rises on top of HV mains over the past few times.
Scooter engineers did not forsee scooter and in-built Lithium battery meet 22,000V AC. Did not end well for scooter and/or bunch of customers freezing with no juice to crank the heaters up with.
Money in my pocket, thank you kindly Mr. bored teenager .
Every time I see an adult riding an E-scooter on the footpath I wish I was standing right in front to coat hanger the arsewipe. Fkn muppets on their toys riding through innocent old people fkn boils me bad. There comes a time when people need to just grow up and become adults and respect other peoples' safety. Ride them on the roads where I can at least aim for you (safely of course)!

Haha bicycles, famously invented by Michelangelo during a holiday to in the Nether regions to power their windmills on still days. Only then to be converted to juvenile transport vehicles by smashed-avo-eating bearded coffee-drinking tattooed hipsters trying to piss off us normal bogans innocently burning fossil fuels to go buy durries and fingerless gloves the pricks.

Posting too regularly on this thread, but my council has just splurged on a brick wall to place the town's name on. Over $100,000. I think it was closer to 150,000. FFS. 40 metres away, there is a pothole and 6 inch ridge in the road, at an intersection, and just after the 80k speed reduction!!!
All good:
Step 1 Stare at the immaculate sign on a big wall.
Step 2 hit the road hazard.
Step 3 Die on impact with the huge wall!
Haha, all this anti cyclist anger in this thread. Maybe time for me to come clean and retire.
Being an immigrant from The Netherlands the only transport we had was a push bike. After moving here when I was younger I used to race (unsuccessfully) at the local Velodrome and play Football (soccer) for the Dutch and Polish clubs (again unsuccessfully).
My son is an avid cyclist and has won in competitive competitions, regularly used to do the Round The Bay ride. A training ride for him is 100km.
Actually all my children are pretty competitive (way better than me) , one has 4 gold medals in Athletics at state level.
When I visited The Netherlands some years ago I used to regularly ride 30km each evening, amazed when I came to a round about I got abused by car drivers for slowing down. Totally different attitude there, they know how fragile you are on a push bike.
Now to throw some more fuel on the fire, I’ve just finished watching Tour de France (as I have for many years) and now watching Tour de France Femmes and really enjoying it.
Recently went for a mountain bike ride with the seven year old grandson, I was knackered but it was fun.
And this next bit will probably get me banned, when the eScooters were introduced here I was given a months membership. Brilliant to see Ballarat in the early mornings and balmy evenings. Absolutely loved it, to bloody cold now.
Seriously I do worry for my children and grandchildren while they are out riding, and some of these comments make me even more concerned.
Totally agree with you. I dont mind going for a ride on a MTB. I try to stay on bike tracks and if I am in traffic I keep right out of the way of cars. Not like these lycra clad monkeypox infected take up 2 lanes hell rider idiots. They are the reason those wide caravan towing mirrors were invented. Also, have no probs with e-scooter riders who own their rides. They generally do not have the who gives a fark attitude of someone who has no idea and can hire one that will do nearly 30 kph and dump the farking thing wherever they please including across a footpath or bike lane…Get rid of them asap.
I honestly worry for our Children too driving cars soon in the wet slippery windy hills around our area Jackstar Mate. Numerous times I’ve personally had to hit what little gravel there is on the side of the 80kmph highway due to trucks and cars taking evasive action around corners with 2 middle aged crisis men peddling at 5kmph side by side.
Have worked in the Netherlands, beautiful place, Amsterdam flat city has got it sorted with Bicycles for sure, some absolute beauties riding them too…..44DD dangerous distractions though [emoji23]

Know what you blokes are on about.
Son 43 years old, never had a drivers license, rides the tredly every where. He`s just headed out the door for a short ride today, some 120 Ks. He rides alone, takes bike paths when he can but here in Adelaide there are not to many .
At one time he was working the other side of town, some 50 KS for home . His boss at the time lives only 200 meters from our place. He and the boss would leave home around the same time but my son would be at work 10 to 15 minutes ahead of the boss. Same deal on the home ward trip. He rides over a 100Ks most days either on the road or the fancy indoor jigger. I`m the team car driver when he rides the Bupa challenge (always rides this ride and the occasional interstate charity rides ) Been up his arse on quite a few occasions on these rides and clocked him one time at just on 110KPH.
Back to the bike and scooter stuff . Dosen`t matter what or who, there are idiots out there its just we all have ot take care and NOT get aggressive. Yes I worry a lot when the son is out there especial on the long rides, but he has an app thingy that will phone me and give me co ords if he has a crash. Hopefully it works if things turn to crap.
I understand driver's frustration, but even 30 years ago it was deadly out on the roads as a cyclist. I used to ride into Melbourne and back when living in the burbs. I usually took the bike track, which followed a creek, so was 4 ks longer. I used hand signals for turns and didn't run red lights but even then the absolute elitist attitude from many drivers was appalling. I can see @MB side of the coin as living with single lane roads through twisting mountainous country, being clogged with cyclists would be infuriating.
No mate, just old Pearcey no 2. It was on a long steep downhill, he was in the super tuck and all I could see from behind was his arse LOL. Have got it on the Go-pro somewhere. He`s on an electronic program called Strava which takes all your ride details and you compete against others on certain road stretches. They post up every bodies times and if your the quickest ,you own the KOM untill some one breaks it. Also cheating on this program is some what difficult.
He held the KOM on a certain stretch of road close to home,, only a short 1.5 Ks long. his speed was just over 80 KPH BUT he did cheat, Slip streamed a semi. He held that KOM for some six months.
his biggest problem is drivers not indicating when at round abouts, folks don`t seem to use the left rear view mirror
Also, he does ride a bit of flash kit.
Think we should create a seperate thread Gentlemen:
“what scared the shit out of you today” [emoji23]
In second place for me on our specific in/out mountain roads to the Higher Country is returning P platers at 80kmph with 6” lifts and no sway bars.
They must in cab see their wheels are licking the double white lines on corners but don’t understand their roof racks are some 300mm leaning over nearly clipping our Cab-over trucks mirrors [emoji26]
You guessed it, GQ wagons, have had a solid 3 in twelve months scares myself [emoji51]

FWIW: The Ultimate ‘crapped my dacks’ moment on our little highway was a trucks trailer spare tyre incident.
80kmph myself in the GQ ute, right hand long sweeping corner with Armco guardrails, nowhere to go.
Oncoming unladen Semi-trailer lost its spare from underneath, rear of the trailer jumped up over the spare some 1.0m oncoming left onto my side of the road, still 50m away thankfully.
A guesstimated 60T Modern B Double quarry Professional Hauler was directly behind the Semi and somehow managed to high speed wiggle his own trailer lock ups between the vertical embankment to his left and by that time my GQ ute licking paint off the Armco railing.
WhyTF anyone would want to ride a Bicycle [emoji468] on this road let alone walk it astounds Nuffy Me [emoji51]

So there was a big call out on thr weekend on alot of thr Victorian Rescue pages to help a couple of blokes stuck down track in the Wombat State Forrest....
The bloke posting said his 2 mates had been stuck for 2 days and 1 night and had broken their winch anf were desperate for help. All seems reasonable.
So the location of these 2 cars was published and noted by many that they were actually on Closed Tracks and should not be there in the first place. Everyone basically said, Track Closed, recovery illegal, no insurance, risk a fine. Call a Professional Recovery company because you are on your own... (a little disappointing but I get it) if i was close and my GQ was going I'd have gone and got them no probs.....
Soooo. This Escalated Quickly!!!!

Something's NQR here. If these rigs were stolen, why weren't they abandoned as they lay? Don't get me wrong, nothing in my view is lower than a bloody scumbag thief, but even scum like that would have just walked away from this shit show and not spent 2 days and 1 night trying to recover. I don't quite get it.

Yeah not sure Plas. Dumb is dumb is Dumb is all I got. I'd have just walked away too. Seems really odd but there it is.
Maybe they thought none would notice. You'd just take all the fake shit off and not draw attention to the wrong plates? Maybe they thought noone would look. Also the article doesn't say that the guys were picked up by the cops. Maybe they did walk away? Not sure

Had a similar experience once when a HUGE fire extinguisher felt from a oncoming tanker on a left turn (LHD here). That huge red torpedo coming straight at me and for that couple of seconds I could not decide if I would hit the brakes or go full throttle. The darn thing hit me in between the axles, on the truck belly. Unbelievable. I stopped on the first safe place I found on that twisty road for inspection, and the belly of the truck was scratched and with red paint remains... If that thing had hit one of the axles it would have ripped it out of the chassis no doubt...
As stated in the vid. Get as much info from them and ask the relevant questions, if they are seriously in need of help, they will answer correctly I suppose. But it makes you think twice hey.
Reminds me of the time when i saw a young lass with the bonnet up on the side of the road, I stopped and asked if she needed help, her response was to mind my own fucking business. in those words. So I drove off.
