A very famous place
Is it in Canberra?
Funny stuff Cuppa no it`s not a bunker and it`s not in the ACT
Is it part of a dam structure?
Sorry Cuppa mate not a dam structure. May be a hint it`s in WA
Is that the rocket testing station ?????
No TD No rocket testing here An other clue it`s south of the middle of WA
Is it part of an old mine?
Now we`re starting to get there
Is it around Kalgoorlie area?
NE of Kalgoorlie mate
Coolgardie?
FanTapstic!
Need more clues, is it in Laverton area?
Sorry Lucas but Coolgardie is SE of Kalgoorlie
Not much shows up NE of Kalgoorlie on the map. Looks like it was a fairly significant infrastructure. Was it a processing plant of some sort? Can it be seen by today's tourists or only accessible to those in the industry? I recall passing a few large mines out in the goldfields between Kalgoorlie, Kookynie, Laverton & Leonora, but no infrastructure like that which we could get close too. Or are we further north than the Leonora - Laverton road?
Cuppa
Looked to me as it was no longer operational.
This is old infrastructure and is accessible to the public and it is still a working mine but it has significance in our history around 1969
Just on the date, I'll take a guess at Gwalia, but if it is, I didn't see a structure like that there.
Cuppa
Another guess based on a bit of googling - Posiedon Nickel mine, Windarra?
Cuppa
You got it Cuppa mate Prosiedon
They are still mining there but access to the old mine is no problem and if anyone is out that way its well worth the visit
In September 1969 Prosiedon shares were $0.80, in October they were $12.30 then by February 1970 the price was $280 then the big crash Google is my friend for some interesting reading
Take it away Cuppa
OK, 3 pics, all taken within a few metres of each other....... but where?
In the 2nd pic is an old motor, broken beer bottles & an old battery. extra brownie points if you can identify the motor (I have no idea)
In the 3rd pic is an old timber framed fridge which someone obviously wanted dead. Included for TD's interest.
Even more brownie points if you can tell us what the failed plans for this place were.

Tah, must be Sth Aust as thats where most sandstone ruins are, thinking Leigh creek area
Your powers of deduction are holding you in good stead TD, it is in SA, & not a million miles from Leigh Creek, although i wouldn't describe it as in the 'Leigh Creek area' as such, you'll need to pin it down a bit more to take the biscuit.
Cuppa
Is it farina? Was going to be big wheat growing area according to gov of time. To bad no one realised there was no water.
Not Farina nor wheat Blacklotusdog...... But you're not really that far off.
Cuppa
How about Kanyaka sheep and cattle station?
That mountain looks familiar sort of from the jump up country around Packsaddle
Maybe Lyndhurst
The town was to be a rail town but the rail head was built 200Ks away
It's about 80kms from Farina & a crop was planted. Similar story to Farina although the crop was a bit taller.
Cuppa
Only crop taller is corn , just throwing out clues
Edit nothing to do with Dates is it they are taller than wheat
Lake Harry Ruins?
That is where they grew dates I think.
TD suggested dates, but TPC named the spot.
Lake Harry Ruins it is & dates the crop. Well done guys. Any thoughts on what the old motor might be?

Over to TPC I think
I stopped off at Lake Harry Ruins last year on my way back from Birdsville.
Had trouble picking it from your photos though, there are so many ruins through SA that look similar.
Where are these two photos from?
I reckon Andamooka
