Good luck Scotty here's to making Tank a load tuffer.
Righto - manifold and all pipe work is off, head goes off to get machined on Monday (for the decompression), and the dump pipe and return intake from intercooler pipe go on Monday also to get ceramic coated. Petrol tank, pump and injectors have arrived (injectors fit the fuel rail and the ports on the manifold!!! Yay!!!) and the gas has started coming out. ECU arrives Monday also, so it's all systems go!
Decided to get a new wiring loom for the injectors also - the old one is pretty fragile ... may as well whilst it's out ...
Fingers crossed!!!

There will be songs written about this Rig one day & it'll go something like this....
Tank had so much power & was going so fast he cracked warp 9 which is faster than a dag thats been shot in the arse...........
(No pun here Doggy, we wouldn't go shooting at you like that old mate)...............lol
I know, I missed my true calling ay.............hahahahahahahaha
Hay..... You be nice to Tank, he may just surprise the hell out of ya.
Remember old mate, doing mok 5 with your hair on fire in a fast car & living to tell the tail is considered hooning!!!
Doing mok 5 with your hair on fire in a Nissan Patrol with a 5" lift, no sway bars & living to tell the tail???...... Now thats legendary!!!
Given what Tanks got going on & if there was a question in there somewhere?? Im tipping It'll be answered very soon..................lol
BIG BLUE TANK.
Firstly, thanks for the ongoing effort in keeping this thread going.
As big a task as the build.
And thanks to your mates for their efforts also.
Truly Australian.
What's the go on the dyno after all that?.
Would you mind making a comprehensive list please of.
Work preformed and parts to summarise this build.
I know I should be writing more here but,
my eyes are still spinning after reading this thread, LOL .
Cheers fellers.

Any pics during all of that?
Thats an awesome list of mods.....and a monster thread!
10 thumbs up for a top effort.....looking forward to seeing The Tank on the road (or a dyno vid, roaring its guts out. Or a hillclimb...or a......)
Dont give up mate,as you said...."nearly there"
Auto Electrical....always a pain in the ar$E on older cars:devilred:
Great work, and something to be proud of....

cheers
I'm an idiot, I was thinking TCU for some reason not ECU, I knew you were replacing the ECU with the Wolf. Think its time for a nap.
So now that all of Tank has been replaced, what parts do you still have up 4 sale ???
Good luck with the gearbox mate, I'm sure it will be purring like a kitten
Goddam, I just read this entire thread and it took 2 hours, 4 beers and wifie goin "what are u reading that's so amusing" every time I laughed!!!
Best build up thread I have ever read mate, u have done a fantastic job on this truck I can totally relate to how fond us blokes can get about our trucks, the amount of effort u have put in is awesome, looks to be on the home straight now too I'll be watching for further updates.

Very clean rig mate how long you had it for?
June 17th 2010 was the day we started the relationship!!! lmao
It's been over 18 months in the making (very different rig to the one I purchased for $7500) and hopefully, just maybe ... I might actually get to drive it in the coming days after another 3 week stint off the road!! lol ...
Glad to hear tank is almost done
bet he,s got itchy rubber now wanting to hit
the tracks again
Well ... as fate would have it, the ECU (new Wolf one) is a bit dodgy so it's being shipped back to Melbourne tomorrow for repair (crank angle sensor pinouts wrong, no injection pulse, no spark ...). Soooooo, there goes another week with no progress ... that said, it is what it is and fingers crossed that something will go right from here.
A few piccies in the interim, there's heaps so won't bore you anymore than I have to with them!!! The new ceramic coating on the pipes is very blingy indeed!! lol - until they get covered in crud when I get my hands back on the wheel !!!
Not sure the CV grease is meant to look like that!!! Those inner oil seals are a pain in the proverbial to change by the way!!
Attachment 12371
Took the opportunity to give the swivel hub bearings, etc, etc a tickle up whilst it was apart ... amazingly, I had no parts left over!!! lmao
Attachment 12370
The new bling!!!
Attachment 12369
You can just see the dump pipe at the back of the engine with its new coat of 'shine' also.
Attachment 12368
Never ask me to get to your sender cover in the rear - this is what will happen (yep, the carpet is cut!!! lol)

Keep persivering with Tank ole mate, He's gonna be one hell of a weapon.
Yay!!! My 12,000lb Mako winch arrived today!!!! Well, arrived last week, but I got my dirty little hands on it today ... big thanks to Murray and Dave from Torq4x4 for their (yet again) unbelievable assistance.
Now, just need to to get that motor running so I can install and use it!!! lmao
Can't wait to have it fitted!!!
very nice mate. I bet she goes great
