Am I expecting too much? Or am I just an angry old carnt?
We are getting a new pergola installed through a Stratco agent. They are around 70% through the build. The roof we have gone for is double lined with a 3 inchísh thick core of polystyrene. I get home today and the parking around in front of my place looks like its just had a dumping of snow. So I have had to spend an hour of my time with the Vac trying to clean up their mess, its through the gardens, everywhere, lucky it wasn't windy as my neighbors would have copped most of it.
They used our bin for their own disposal of lunch rubbish, fair enough. But FFS! Use the right fucking bin!!!
So I've left them a nice note on top of the Vac to use their fucking brains next time they need to cut polystyrene. I seriously cannot wait until we no longer need trades people here. Every single one of them just don't give a shit, I'm over these, these. What do I even call them? Fuckwits?!!!!!
No wonder I drink the amount I do!
I have one last trade to come in. Paving. He will be getting a grilling before he starts thats for sure. I'm seriously over spending my spare time, well my time when I'm not at work, cleaning up after these people.
It seems no one takes pride in their work anymore.
Sorry. Rant over. I just needed to vent.
Haha yeah I know I’m the latter. Taking after my old man it seems.
It just make me wild when I see shit like this. Absolutely could be avoided if they used their brain and thought about it a bit more.
It doesn’t leave a good impression. So far their workmanship is great.

Was "Clean Up" in the quote?
@mudski it was the same when we got the new carport after the old 1 caught fire , cigarette butts everywhere ( we don’t smoke so that did my fukn head in ) , tek screws scattered all through the grass & offcuts / slithers of tin everywhere . ARRGGGHHHHH !!!!!!
Watching the rugby union tonight and during the anthem the singer sung "we are one and free". I was slightly annoyed the singer didn't sing the anthem correctly. It's our anthem and political correctness aside young and free is the correct line as far as I'm aware...

Well thanks for clearing that up. Still got sung wrong imho. What a load of BS

It's quite clear in the introductions thread that new members don't need 25 posts to access the manuals. So when someone comes on and chucks up 25 junk posts as happened this arvo, can a mod please delete them so the flow of the forum isn't fcuked for the next few days?
Yeah I think this might have to have a rethink.
Why would you have to say you don’t need 25 posts if it’s not necessary?
Obviously newbies are seeing this message and posting crap to get 25 posts.
Get your shit sorted @AB @MudRunnerTD

Hey ,maybe the girlfriends giving you a hint. LMSDO
Feeling the frustration expressed earlier by others here. I have a trench with rebar ready to have the concrete poured. Can't find any concreters, labourers, handy men to do it. Some say they will come and have a squiz, but don't get here. The ones who do turn up for a quote can't be assed to ring back.

bloody daylight saving....saved to where????
Well, I'm "shattered" at me self. Learn from my own dumbf**kery here folks.
When it rains, the solar panel on my roof has always pooled water on whatever corner the car slopes towards. The alloy surround is slightly higher than the "glass" portion, hence the water cannot run off freely.
Thought I'd attempt rectifying this, by drilling some 1-2mm holes to act as drainage points. I drilled through the corner part of the bracket and well and truly away from the "circuit" part of the panel. But , it didn't end well did it... Alloy hole went no worries, but once the drill punctured through the glass part, it was like watching a movie scene where some poor sod's standing on ice and a web of cracks surrounds him like a spider web... The whole panel turned into a mosaic within 10 seconds. Whats worse is the panel worked flawlessly, pooled water or not, over the 2-3 years it's been up there. Don't know what got into me to fix it now...
I've thrown firewood, swags, fire grills, right on top of the panel. Been hit with a ratchet numerous times. Not even a scratch!! But a tiny hole on one extreme corner and it's game over!! I've never seen anything like it!

Ahh crap mate! There was someone here, can't remember who now, who put a perspex cover over their roof panel. Looked nifty and would deal with the water pooling issue.
sounds like it was tempered glass mate, that shit is baked into the shape it is, and once its set there is no changing the shape. any penetrations or edge taps and it does exactly what yours did. for future reference though, its pretty bloody hard to break with a front on colision. i remember throwing out a shower screen from tempered glass at work. the boss and i took turns trying to break it with our claw hammers. at least 10 hits and it didnt even mark. then in a moment of clarity he say "oh wait, stand back" tiny little tap on an edge and the whole thing blew to smithereens.
It always amazes me the rubber bullet filth....err sorry, Vicpol, dont carry spring punches on their belt for this very reason. The amount of times you see them flailing away with their extendable battens on car windows is ridiculous. Just a little pin punch is all is needed.
