It was a lot easier than I expected. I drilled two holes in the front of it, blew out the old oil (which was like thick dark honey), and put 40ml of 30,000 grade silicone oil into it with a syringe.
The oil came from a hobby store, and cost me $4.50 for 80ml. It's used in the diffs of radio controlled cars and comes in different grades. 30k was recommended by someone who'd compared the specs of the fan clutch oil you can buy from Toyota.
Different engines use different clutches though. If you have a TD42 there's a good chance you can just unbolt it rather than drilling holes in it.

Well I lightened the wallet by just over 2 and a 1/5 grand on the troll today. Started with wanting an exchange intercooler and things escalated quickly lol
Bit of a small mouse plague around my area. Found some signs that they have been nesting beside the battery, so I have mounted a mouse trap on a bit of wood so it will sit nicely under the bonnet.
Not so much the patrol, but a roof rack..
Bought this awning a while back for $250ish and this rack came attached..
But was a gu rack and 2.5m long..
So have cut it down to 1.8m and some flash new mounts to suit the gq..
So it's now done and painted. Just need to make the clamps, mount the awning and throw it on..

Routed the scangauge cable through the dash to fit it nicely, and ran some cable for the locker switch and moved the antenna mast switch.
The Mrs vacuumed and shampooed the carpet , leather conditioned the seats , while I looked at what 25 years of camping on the beaches , has done to the jayco running gear , while I'm removing the rust I'll give it a 50mm lift and a tire and wheel upgrade , Attachment 42263Attachment 42264Attachment 42265
