There has to be a funny one liner in there somewhere, but I can't see it. Sounds a bit fishy.

A little Annoyed.
Have a Cracked Mounting Bracket on My Exhaust Dump Pipe, the bracket has pulled away from the Catalytic Converter Body, meaning I have a couple small holes in the Catalytic Converter and extra stress on my Turbo casing as a result.
Had booked My Patrol in last Wednesday to have the Dump Pipe pulled off and the Bracket rewelded. Was going to coast around $300 to have it all done, but then found 3" Replacement Exhaust Systems on the Net costing between from $550 to $1000 with rather good reviews, so decided to replace the whole exhaust system rather then just undertake what might be a temp repair.
Website said In-stock. Should had rang before placing my order online, almost a week later and I find out it won't be available for shipment for another week or even two . . . .
And that's the worrying thing for me, as I have an unsupported Dump Pipe placing extra stress on my Turbo Body . . . not happy.
My Exhaust doesn't have all the component's ready for shipment, and they (2x Pieces) need to be made up.
Would had been nice to have know at Point of Sale the kit wasn't ready for immediate shipping, would had searched around to find a Supplier who could ship straight away.
Might had a new system installed by now, might had been able to head down to Canberra tomorrow to watch the RAAF's Bi-centenary Fly-By . . . Not happy Camper 🙁
My experiences of ordering stuff online have been 95% bad. That is to say, defective, wrong model, or not going to be available for ages. I have a brand new starter for a Nissan Navara, sitting in a box from Patrolapart, instead of the One for the RB30. I got it early last year, and a mechanic tried to fit it six month later and the truth was revealed. So returning it is out of the question.
Buying local is expensive, but warranty, and repair is so worth it.
Does anyone want to buy a Navara starter?
Have you spoken to Patrolapart about it? They are generally very understanding and good to deal with.

To tell you the truth, I had shelved it and keep forgetting to do something about the bloody thing. Grant209's post Jogged the memory box.
EDit: Call made , and will have a decision within a day or so.
mudnut,
Yep . . . know where your coming from, I'm generally cautious about purchasing stuff on-line. Where ever possible I'll try to go into the store and have a little walk around the store and check out what I'm looking for when ever possible before I purchase a significant item.
I've dealt with Patrolapart a couple of times, and generally found them quiet helpful being a New Comer to GU Patrols.

Amazing technology, phones. You talk to a voice and they say its all good to return the starter motor. Onya, Patrolapart.
Finding out after an engine inspection, that not only are both head gaskets farked, also the pistons have corrosion and the bore hones are corroded and almost wiped. Looks like a 20 thou over rebuild is now an the cards.
Now I inherited this build (so paid good money for the car in October 20), and continued evolving the truck. At the time of purchase there was absolutely no indication of any engine issues present, the service history looked great. and the engine only had 15000 kms on it, with 31 months warranty still left on it. Previous owner swore never had any issues with it.
Anyhow, turns out he was full of shit, and still is denying any issues with the engine. Sure, I made a claim under warranty to Brunswick, who sent me to Blackheath auto for the head gasket repair, and during the inspection after they pulled the donk, they found the above. They notified Brunswick and sure enough Greg goes hunting for service history. Now would you all believe what he comes up with.
See pdf invoice dated a month before I bought the car, and ironically the service log from the 1000, 5000, and 10000 km services are completed in the log, so I was about to do the 15000 when the over pressure issue started.
Attachment 83288
Evidently that was done when needed in Sept 20, when the issue was first discovered, but the car service center did not fill out the maintenance log this time (so more deception there), and they added an additive sealant to mask the issue, so the problem could be then on sold to some poor sucker..in this case me.:icon_bonk:
So now instead of a few grand repair Brunswick indicated they would honor, we are now looking at a full rebuild due to the vehicle being driven for another 1000 odd kms, and now who covers what costs is certainly unclear.
I will find out more after the Easter break but for now I am just shitted off to the maximum. Why the silly Can't did not just do a warranty claim earlier has me well fucked....and he still denies any issues with the car, despite me knowing otherwise.
The trouble is I have spent so much more on it, I am sort of committed to getting it fixed, rather than just walking away and copping a huge loss.
I guess the moral is don't trust anyone now these days...and this certainly is a great example of pissed off.
This has turned to POO very quickly. I suspect the best BD might offer is a 50/50 split over and above the head gasket replacement that they have stumped up on, just a guess. I am very sorry to hear of your problems, and hope it heads in the right direction soon.
Someone ate my Chickos and my Coon has gone mouldy but I have a shitload af M8 Wingnuts and this..... 😂😂😂😂Attachment 83292
This is my kitchen trophy wall. What else can I add to remember the good ole days when we didn't cancel everything that could possibly hurt my delicate little feelings that my helicopter parents never let me develop?

All you nicotine suckers... last time I sucked on a fag CAN I SAY THAT WITHOUT OFFENDING A GAYTIME EATER??? I paid 15 bucks for a pack of 50s...Once upon a time I used to be able to buy semiauto guns at Myers. Ammo at Kmart. And the Penny Bunger and tom thumbs at the local milk bar to blow up shit. World is farked now.
I will bugger off now and eat my VEGAN HUNGRY JACKS BURGER.
1966, Dunhil 20's were 18 cents a pack - I used to run down the shop for the old man and got the 2c for lollies - back in the days when you could get 3 for 1c etc - goes back a while.
Ventured north for a quick drive up to Mt. Disappointment, as I haven't been there for a number of years.
As I was on my own with my 8yo son, I stuck to the main tracks & easy trails. Being wet after weekends rains, even the easy main steep trails had steering wheel gripping moments.
Spent a few hours exploring, and the name of the place unfortunately seems fitting. Disappointing.
It's difficult to find a sign, a name post, a feature that hasn't been absolutely gutted by bullet holes. Fence posts/barrier chains driven over or cut down.
Andersons garden campground didn't have a fire pit without left over rubbish, boots, beer bottles, tampons, portable electric heaters... You name it.
Such a shame...
I filled up the spare wheel bag with as much as I could.
I hate saying it, but I'm growing sympathy with authorities closing places down with such things going on.

Yeah it's pretty s#!t the entitled attitude so many have just to use (abuse) a beautiful place with no respect or appreciation. We're are so lucky to have such amazing places in our backyard but especially the closer ones to populated areas such as Dissa are the worse. . Yep everytime I go bush always carry out selfish Fu&#ers rubbish they feel isn't a problem to throw in a beautiful environment that there for everyone to enjoy. . Seriously don't get it. . .

Yep, I don't know what can be done about them. I can't remember what campsite it is, but on the Madigan line there's a marker marking the campsite and it's completely defaced. This is in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
I read a report last year I think it was, that some DHs cut down one of Len Beadell's track markers and took it, probably used it for firewood.
I think it comes down to parenting, kids aren't taught to respect things or people, which isn't surprising as their parents don't respect themselves.
The way our government look after their own.
My 19 yo has got himself an apartment and has taken on the responsibility of being an adult.
Being his first place he needs anything and we are there to help him get set up. With rent, car repayments and now bills it's going to be a bit of a stretch on a 1st year apprenticeship wage.
So he gets onto Centrelink and applies for youth allow, living away from home. That was the only one that he falls into. Apparently you need to be receiving some sort of Centrelink payment to apply for rental assistance. So he submits and waits. Gets a notification he's been knocked back on the youth allowance, but not because anything that he's done, it's us as hard working parents trying to provide my son isn't eligible for anything as we earn too much.
The threshold starts at $55,600.00 combined and then its on a sliding scale.
The thing that gets me is that he is a dependent until he turns 22 regardless of where he is living.
The only think he can do is to apply for a independent youth allowance, but that's only after he had lived away from home and working full-time for at least 18 months, he's 6 months in his apprenticeship.

I moved out when I was about that age too mate, it was extremely tough to make ends meat on the $350-$400 I was earning every week. The only way to seek help off the government is to lie unfortunately, your son would have to say he's been couch surfing for the time needed and that he is estranged from you guys.
The system is absolutely crap, and everything is at their pace the applications take so long. It just doesn't work in the real world. Good luck with it all mate

I personally would ask for a case manager,
We had similar with one of our kids years ago and went through hoops, they can get it even if you earn to much....just have to lie sign a stat Dec I think saying that there is no way he is ever welcomed back into your house as you've disowned him...hard call

A word of warning if you want to set up an Aquarium. Bought new plants for the aquarium today. Got stuck in pulling them apart, and dipping them for quarantine. Had a closer look at the yellow fiber they used as a growth medium. It looks like f'ing fibre glass insulation. It is floating all over the tank, its on the table, in the sink, ARRRGH!!. Glad its only in the quarantine tank.
