Finally got off me butt and swapped the UHF and second battery over from the clunker into the new GQ, will eventually fit a switch so I can use either the 3db or 6db aerials depending on terrain.
Don't see why it would intefere with reception seeing as it'll only be using one antenna at a time and they're set at 2 feet apart ...... wouldn't have thought it would be any differrent to some one running 2 radios, the switch I have is similar to this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-POSITIO...5357363&_uhb=1
I also have the interchangeable antennas but once I've installed the switch I won't need to swap the whips anymore.
Start of our preperation for trip away ..... Lots of wiring to sort out and tidy up, I think I need a lots more battery terminal connection points.
And lots of tighning NUTS and bolts, pipes and fit a few p clamps to secure lots pipes .......
