There seems to be a great deal negativity toward "roothy" and 4x4 Action, and most of it deserved. But what happens to a business when they don't make sales? They disappear. Sure the Tigerz and Roo systems will always make sales (the Terry Tightarses love to save a few bucks here and there) but in the long run, if they are supplying an inferior product, then their sales will drop.
The other thing that I think gets up peoples noses, is that Roothy likes to think he is the voice of the 4wding public, because he is the face of the highest selling 4wd magazine on the market. If HE had some competition then it would take away from his market, and in turn the 4wd Action market, giving consumers another voice and options. What I would like to see is another personality hit the media to take a fair bit of the limelight from Roothy, it might make him pick his act up (and EMG). From what I have seen, pickings are slim, but the best of the bad bunch would be the guys from All 4 Adventure. But even they have their sponsors to keep happy. I'm sure we all know someone out there who has the knack for brining a smile to everyones face almost immediately, and also has the integrity that people will trust what he/she has to say, and the stories they tell. We should try and find that person a bunch of sponsors and put them in front of a camera.
p.s. Pat Callinan is a goose
Those are actually very good points you have about roothy. I've never thought of it that way but I reckon your spot on.
FanTapstic!

Ron Moon would be my choice, up front a bit biased but he's a great 4x4 spokesman
Les Hiddens would be a good choice :)
Oh Yeah, love watching the "Bush Tucker Man" What knowledge he must have and great at story telling
