I now think it is Carnavon Gorge
Rewan Memorial on your way into the Gorge. This memorial was erected to honour the lives of those Australian and US soldiers who were aboard a C47B Dakota aircraft which crash landed in Carnarvon Creek near Rewan Station, while en-route from Darwin to Brisbane in 1943
You’ve got it Bob, Carnarvon Gorge it is. With the gorge extending over around 22kms & varying in width & depth there are a number of quite different microclimates & ecosytems along it’s length, the palms shown (which dad’s tractor was correct about when he said they are Livistonas - Carnarvon fan palm - Livistona nitida) cover only a relatively small area.I had thought the light coloured cliff might give it away.
St Mary's peak Wilpenna Pound .
No not St Mary's Peak
How about the Grampians?
Now that did not take you long Cuppa.
Well done
Thanks Bob,
I reckon this might be go quickly too.
