If you think swimming with dolphins is expensive then you should try swimming with sharks. Cost me a bloody arm and a leg.

Mum and dad had to put the family dog down late last night. He had cancer and unfortunately was in to much pain yesterday.

Two in two years from the "old gang". Strange that it pisses me off more than it saddens me.
Seeing the last couple posts, I can't really complain as I am in good health etc. and there is more in life then just cars.
Just a short rant that my 4WD got stolen over Xmas, just when we had kitted it out for a big trip over Xmas and move to Melbourne. Even with insurance covering a big part of it, still losing money on it, not the mention the emotional value of years of saving and building it up to the point it was at.

That sux mate. But. I wish mine would get pinched. Even though it would suck because the amount on hours I have pumped into it, the payout would get me a noice Y62. Or a 200

Petrol 10c a litre cheaper down the road in Nelson @mudnut, $1.34/L Vs $1.44 at my much busier on the way to Mt Gambier normal servo.
Rolling power outages to due placating some political goons by shutting down a power station!! Also Found out that our standard landline doesn't work anymore with power outages! WTF!!!
I got on their fb page and asked 'the' question, and they said ...
Hi Ten, we appreciate power outages are inconvenient, particularly in this heat. Today's outage was directed by the Australian Energy Market Operator and this event was as a result of a shortfall in power generation, and was not network related; unfortunately we are given little or no notice in these situations If you still do not have power, please call out 24x7 faults number on 132412.
I fell asleep on the couch for 10 mins, so it was lucky it happened during nap time.
There's a bit to it all , since Hazelwood closed which was twenty five percent of our generation which is a lot we have relied on wind and solar, both work ok under ideal conditions if it's windy and if it's sunny and not hot .
Unfortunately it's hot and not windy where it's needed so net result is blackouts , we now don't generate enough electricity to cover our needs and rely on Tasmania and NSW to get us through .
It's not going to get better it's going to get worse so buy a gennie and get some wiring done so you can replace the grid with off grid .
Coal fired works ninety eight to ninety nine percent of the time but wind and solar low thirty percent on a good day and that's why the blackout .
Yep buy foreign made generators and fill them with fossil fuel. That'll show that nasty climate change phenomenon a thing or two!!!
Do your own thing. Can keep them cool (gravity feed) as I do when the batteries go into float above 40 DegC.
But when landline goes down, yep loose ADSL, no access to internet, fires near me but can at least pump water and run the air conditioner.
Enormous 48+ hours at work, what a day yesterday was. Probably the worst state, I've seen the system in, since the horrible pre - black saturday week.
I wonder where all greenies are now that the load power shedding has begun. Not a much has been said from their camp last few days.
Forum Mods banning Dickheads before I can report their posts... takes all the fun out of being a grumpy old fart.
Keep up the good work boys but every now and then give the members a chance to kick 'em in the nuts a coupla times first :-)
