Fitted a 6ton jack in the original spot
We have 180litre (150+30) onboard water capacity in the Patrol for two of us. We don't have to fill it, but as water is always the main limiting factor as to how long it's possible to stay away from 'civilisation' it gives greater options. (Our bus has much the same water capacity & we can make it last for two weeks).
Pumped up the tyres, cleaned the windscreen and checked the fluids. Camping trip tomorrow pending the rain staying to a minimal.
Meh! I'd just fill it with beer. Then the fun times would begin.
As for me I just fitted new barn door seals on the wagon. All fitted except for the pinchweld seal I got, they kinda forgot to put the actual seal onto the pinchweld. 6hunge later for all for seals thank you very much!!!
Gotta do the RHS front door seals too next....
Fitted a Provent catch can. Used 5/16" heater hose, (CH1300 MacKay), flared at one end so it fits the can, negating the need for reducing joiners etc.
Hey cuppa... sorry took a while... here are the pics of my water setup...... 2x50 litres on the roof both with individual ball valves and one on the main hose..
the next is the one behind the drivers seat wich goes to the pump which is fixed under the passenger seat and that runs the water to the heat exchange in the bullbar wich has terminals on the bullbar.. my longer trips i have the 100 litre flexi tank which sits on the water tank in the back(no pics of that as i havent had to need that this weekend!!
Scotty
installed dawes valve, installed oil coolers for auto, connected gear linkage for auto box back up and lots more
Yeah, plenty of 5/16 oil hose around, but bugger all 1" hose and no adapters for 1" to 5/16", believe me I looked for 2 days, everywhere including Bunnings, Supercheap and Pirtek. Bathurst isn't the best place for car parts unfortunately.
Yesterday I drove my truck, a 4.2 TDi, about 450k's with a 2 ton trailer on the back. I cannot believe how much 'grunt' it had. I stayed in 4th gear going up and down hills. I've noticed the more weight I have on/in it, the better it travels and loves it. I've got coils on the front and leaf on the back.
No wonder Mr Nissan don't make them any more and they have gone up in value. My troll's gunna be in my will. I'm never getting rid of it!
Can't blame you for wanting to keep the 4.2 forever... maybe I should take the 4.2 out of my GQ and put it in my new one :) lol
Pretty sure this is the one I got, flared end 22mm, hose is 15mm. My very helpful wife cleaned up the tags that I took off the hoses so I could only go by what was on the docket.

I just have to find another hose with the same size end of the provent and to fit the 1/2inch end at the motor and I'll be sweet. As there is two different sized ends on my ZD30. 1/2inch on the motor and 5/8 on the air intake.
You might find that the CH1300 will do for both mate. It's soft enough to clamp down on the 1/2" and stretch on to the 5/8". The flared 22mm end is a perfect fit on the Provent, a bit of soapy water gets it on nice and easy then clamped.
Mudski and Lonicus, depends how much blow by the motor has to how quickly it eats the hose coz it could last years, months or days.
Mudski take the hose off and feel the inside of it and have a look aswell if the inner skin has separated.
Bought a boost gauge today, b@stard better work!
Re-installed my seats that I got back from the re-upholsterer. Few cigarette burns from previous owner
Bought a second hand set of drawers. Need some tlc but will work a treat. When they are complete.
On the weekend took it out to Janowen Hills and tested out the new mud tyres. I'm now as happy as a pig in ..... mud!!!! Then took it home and high pressured washed it for about 1 1/2 hours to clean off the black soil mud. Then off to Torq4x4 where we fitted a new speedo sprocket which corrected the speedo error and also an oil and filter change.
Installed lift kit (Koni shocks and Kings springs), wheel alignment tomorrow. That's the end of the mods (as if)!
Cleaned 3 months worth of kids snacks, spilt drinks, packaging and dirt out of the seats, carpet and booster seats.
Went hardcore today....:icon_bonk:
99% finished drawers just need some aluminium angle on
