My LWB Mav

Well after the floods that ran though vic on the 4th feb and drive though bonnet deep water aswell as having to pull people that had no brains and tryed to drive the water. I had found out smurfs floor wasnt very water tight was holes here there everywhere on the floor all rubber bungs didnt seal 100%


So yester day i spend the hole day washing the inside of the floor out with a hose (Gotta love no carpet) i can now see the white flood
and also found all the little holes and rubber bungs that were leaking

So my best mate STICKERFLEX come out and i filled very dam hole up and sealed up the rubber bungs even ones that didnt no doing
and why i was at it i removed unused wiring that went to back of the car and tidied up the rest of the wiring only wiring thatcan be seen now is the engines kill switch
only becuase it like inch thick :)

What can you say but.. What a weapon of a troll haha

Well today i thought it was time to color match the bonnet to the rest of the car as the black bonnet was becoming very annoying


Step 1 sand the bonnet back with 320 wet n dry paper

Step 2 put 4 coats of black ech primer on

Step 3 wait 4hrs for primer to dry and lay down 3 coats of top coat

And the final step tomorrow after bonnet had over night and tomorrow to dry bolt it back on and give it cut n polish to move the gay bugs that landed on it

Well bonnet is back on the smurf now looks truck looks better with blue bonnet then it did with the black bonnet and the air vent was bought back to Raw Ally looks good on the blue bonnet

Mate have you just got 4" susp lift or body lift as well and do those 37's scrub lots on inner guards or not too bad?

Body lift is GAY never use the it.
i got 3inch lift that sits about 2.5inch now and running 37s tyres dont rub at all not running the 4inch lift anymore keep it low on big tyres

Well not much has changed to Smurf atm just in the middle of getting a RWC.

So been replacing heaps of stuff before it go's into the shop.

Its got new:
Panhard bushes front n rear
New Tie Rode ends on steering arm
New steering damper
New windscreen
New standard seat belts
Fitted factory sun visers
New Brake pads on all 4 corners

And the oil sensor sh!t it self so it was cheaper to buy a aftermarket oil gauge then it was to buy a new factory oil sensor

And also dug up the factory panhard bracket that come off my shorty gave it a clean up and will bolt that on when i get a GU steering box

Gotta say i'm glad they havent bought RWC in here but like bigrig says it does give incentive to perform routine maintenance

To clear up the air its not defected or anything its just im finally getting a RWC to put it into my name and get it out of my mates name :) lol

Well smurf is booked in for its Rwc next Tuesday so cant wait to get that out of the way.

But today i removed front Panhard rode and installed the factory nissan panhard bracket.
Tomorrow im getting new bushes pushed into panhard rode and will fit it back up old bushes are beyond farked.

Looking good Evil

Well got bored last night and thought i need a reverse light but normal flood lights aren't all the bright n the LED ones are to pricey.

So having a couple of spare HID spotties laying around i thought why not HID a standard flood light from Super Crap auto witch i already had cost me a huge sum of 25 bucks.

Was dark n have poor light in the shed so didn't get any pic's of modding the light to suit the HID globe but wasn't hard just had to file hole out n make a spacer as globe was about 3mm to long.

Made a bracket to mount the ballast there

pretty good spot for it ive got mine on an original bumper bolt drivers side works well for tailgaters i have mine duel wiring so it is leagal because by law it must be wired so it only comes on while the vehicle is in reverse withn ignition on i have that and also idependantly with a seperate switch for tailgaters and keeping followers in line lol

Yeah how mine is wired in mine wired off the reverse light wiring into a relay.
And then another wire that's constant power to the relay on a switch on the dash so it can be turned on when setting up camp at night.

yep as long as it is wired through the reverse lamps the cops cant do anything as long as they dont find the independant switch

Got home from work early today so thought i would mount the ARB compressor.

Couldnt work out where to put it i everyone mounts them under the seat but i wanted it up off the ground out of harms way if i ever flood the car.

So mounted it to the cage was using a gasless mig at mates so the welds are poo so i gave up trying to weld it so i just did single tac's all the way along it

Hoping to have a front locker buy end of July.

Good work mate - they mounted mine under the seat, but upside down on the seat rail which keeps it about 3" off the floor - if it gets drowned, I've got bigger problems to worry about!!

No chance of that with yours. Keep us up to date on progress on getting the locker.
