So she's a 5 seater good for 3.5 T..
Man ... I go away for a few days and what happens .....
Kallen, with the GU's, I find that the UHFs with the display and speaker in the handset are easier to install and use. You may want to look at these before you open the box on the one you have bought
Mic

I can't handle things dangling in peripheral vision. Drives me nuts. UHF mounted low gets my vote.
I agree with Darren, would drive me nuts up there.
I will often just drop the mic when driving through tricky stuff but if you do that with it up there it will swing all over the place.
You would be best off getting the mic extension to put the mic on the center console if you want the CB up there.
So I got the buts for the o/h console to fit the smaller radio and then the missus comes around to putting it next to the gear stick...
So out come all the wires I had run the nights before..
Out with the console..
Enlarged the hole that was there to fit the unit in..
Bloody double plug is a bit long so it's not fitted 100% but it's in for a weekend on the beach lol

Was old school having your mike cords dangling from the roof,
can I suggest you run 2 ext speakers One on your oh shit bar or A pillar moulding
and one on the passenger side.. you wont miss anything thats said then.
Nothing in the mail today?????
the UHF with the controls on the mike are very user friendly
cant see but is it 80 channel? Good antenna those too.
could you use a tweeter speaker as an ext speaker???
just thinking more discreet ontop of A pillar moulding
Maybe.. but this is a small one anyway. About credit card size. Just from testing it in the drive way I think the normal speaker is going to be fine
Nice buy. I have the same drawers, love them
So chassis was quite sand blasted up front so this arvo have gone about getting a few sperm suits and getting under the car with first Degreaser, then a car wash and a good high pressure clean..
I'm doing the whole chassis with a coat of kill rust black and then tomorrow will be getting back in another sperm suit and spraying the whole under body with fish oil..
Happy with the outcome so far..

Love it did you go limo in the Cargo area?
Wife has privacy glass on all trhe windows from the backdoors to the big door
What are we calling privacy glass LIMMO as in very very dark mine has limmo in he cargo window on the sides
the passenger and rear doors have one above darkest legal and drivers is darkest legal , great in summer
and even better up at camp. once I fit my internal window protectors it wont matter in the cargo area
Na just 20% black all around..
It was dusk when I took the second picture.. so it makes it look a little blacker than it is..
So main tank breather mod done for extra capacity..
I also started the mounted air compressor in the rear 1/4..
Stainless flat using original bolt holes..
Solid as a rock in there..
Next I have to make a manifold to take the new pressure cut off, a gauge and outlet line..
It's a nice fit and heaps of room..
Might even get a small 25-30L water tank in there.

It's gonna get pretty hot in there mate. Maybe a small computer fan that comes on when the compressor has power?
Yeah agree you may need to fit a panel with vents on it to get abit of air flow going
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Air-Vent-...MAAMXQgyZR~uhM
EDIT would it be easier to mount it in your camper,
Yep I have a 125mm 12v fan I'll put on the relay so when the compressor is running it'll be drawing in cold air..
Not hard at all.. once the bloody draws were out the way (they ain't coming out unless I dismantle them!!!) just remove the few screw on things like Jesus handle, cargo clip and belt retainer.. remove the window surround and then remove the lower section..
It's majority clips..
I don't think I need external air.. this cavity is huge.. and runs all up into the roof..
Got more flow than this bloke..
What a setup! !!

This is the pump and tank I had in my other 4x4
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Boss-Air-...IAAOSwMmBVlOpM
Dont forget a non return valve otherwise
the system will leak back past the piston
So rhino rack had 25% off roof bars in stock and just my luck all in stock..
$70 ish bucks off so happy days..
All black aero bars with gutter mounts all rated for 225kg...

Just read through this thread. Again very nice pick up, and good score on those roof bars!
@ Kallen seeing you have the rear inner panels off, IYO would
you think those rear seat belts would fit the front driver/passenger
ones
So winch is a few steps closer to done..
We got the bar off and re positioned the gearbox to a much nicer position and fitted the solinode and wiring in..
We also fitted the snorkle..
God dam what a pain..
5 hours!!!!!
I know why the charge $300+ to install them...
So I have also fitted up the awning with an led light strip down the mount to a cig socket to plug into the rear...
Cant wait to use it all..

Nice job mate, looks great. How'd you go squeezing in half a tube of sikaflex to seal the airbox to the inner guard.
