More photos tonight when I get home - but I am definitely over the moon with it. Can't believe how well it drives, how much quieter than the Nav it is and just how much get up and go it has compared to the 2.5 CRD in the Nav.
Sorry for boring everyone to tears with my countdown - but hey - its a new Patrol - what do you expect!
:icon_driving:
Nice neat job done on all the work too - towbar/bullbar/winch/snorkel. Next up is the roof bars and tray - mount the awning. Then power sockets in the rear, dual battery, lift (maybe), roof console, UHF......
yeah got to looove a new ride. enjoy ,enjoy enjoy, now to pull it apart and set it up.
care factor 100% , bored with the count down never, just glad you can now whack some clothes back on.
Then again......??? need pics all angles please
Will do threedogs. Should have 'em posted sometime tonight.

Hey guys - sorry - must confess been a little "occupied" with the new toy tonight! And I can hear the groans already but to top it off left my camera at work so can't post any more pics tonight. Nearly 500kms done already - and I know there is conflicting beliefs around running them in or not - but only took her up the *gentlest* of tracks this evening. Can't let her feel like she's going to be a "Toorak tractor" or "Mossman mum's car"!!
Gotta say I am well impressed with it so far. Clutch is maybe a wee bit long for my liking - fair bit of travel before friction point and the brakes similarly need a good bit of pressure.Things I like are that is has a fair bit of zip compared to what I'm used to - but have to be careful to keep the revs under control. Haven't really felt the VDC kick in (OK - haven't tried that hard), rear lockers are nice, and for a stock suspension seems to have a nice amount of offroad travel, good highway feel and comfort and clearance so far has been fine.
Gotta get used to having a "back" on it after the ute, visibility suffers a little bit with the third row seats up (but they'll come out anyway). Another thing to add to the list is new tyres - the A/Ts on there (Bridgestone Duelers) are OK but need a bit more offroad bite. Rear air-con button is tucked a little low for easy access - but I'm just being picky now.
All in all couldn't be any happier with her - another 400 ks and back for the service. In terms of the dealership also couldn't be happier. For those who might have had similar questions to me here's some things I have found:
* Factory bullbar is made by ARB and seems the goods - never had any issues with Nissan bars before and this seems to be the case again
* "Factory" winch is a Warn XD9000 - and yes it is mounted upside down (as it always is in the Nissan bars) and the cable does come off the "top" of the drum but the load brake does work because in reality the cable still comes out of the bottom of the drum as its upside down
* The winch fitting is nice and tidy with the control box under the top of the bar - so no protruding controller
* Factory towbar is neat as a pin - and wiring, etc has been done well
* Winch wiring is spot on
* Snorkel mounting is sound and appears to be sealed well - however it seems like the intake tube runs inside the front quarter panel and then connects to the air-filter
* For an under the bonnet that has less room than I don't know what there is a perfect spot for the second battery - but once that's in getting to anything under there is a feat for small hands!
I'll give a better update once the weekend is over - off to the Glasshouse Mountains this weekend - but so far so good and couldn't be a prouder dad of a new 'troll. Oh how the credit card is going to suffer over the next couple of weeks! Thanks guys and gals for putting up with the last 6 days - but plenty more to come!

Got to love the troll in silver.... I have a black one.... But the silver is sexy.... Congrats on the purchase
They'll be mud after the weekend! Plenty of it me hopes!
Mate too frikin clean...... some nice pin striping and maybe a nicely placed dent with stickers all over the back window!!!! he he he!!!
It's VERY purdy guys ... Congratulations !!
Nice clean canvas, Congrat's L / J. Very nice, but think i would throw some bush bars on that baby. Looks to pretty to scratch.
But it is a Patrol and the bush is what theyre built for.
Well done guys, Hope you Enjoy it as much as the anticipation in waiting for the arrival of your new baby.
Thanks wild98. You know how it is - the first scratch is the hardest - after that it's all fun!
My first scratch was about 300 of them full car length going through scrub. Had to get it polished out, summoned by the gate keeper.

How true is that, my first scrape with a bush I cringed, then got into a bit of mud through trees and got my first minor dent, then it was Hey its a 4x4 that's what there made for lol.
I don't got out there to deliberately wreck the beast but if she gets a few injuries along the way so be it, I'm having a great time seeing parts of the country that others less fortunate will ever see,, Enjoy
Tappn the App Beers on Tap
G'Day L & J, did they wire the winch to the start battery or second battery,
Cheers Tonks
Hi Tonks - only one in there now so it's on the cranker. On another note - took the new girl out to the glasshouse mountains yesterday. Took the track in Dirty Weekends. Had two wheels off and being a chicken sh@t in the new beast wasn't sure how far the rollover angle would be but got through - but slooooowly! Mud up to the armpits and took some dips and turns I was sure would hang her up but short of the towball scraping (yeah - forgot tot take it off) and a scrape on the stock bar over the tranny no damage. Well a pinstripe or two but they don't count. Man - this thing for a a stock beastie has some torque. In first and low range felt like you could carve up 90 degree mountains. Didn't miss a beat. So, so, so stoked with the new lady. Gotta clean her up now - mud up to her wazoo but a great day out. Nothing like the feeling off rockin' on two wheels. Gonna take a bit to get used to the wider higher car after the Nav but even having it rubbing on the rims and nearly carving out the tyres (forgot they weren't reinforced) she was rock solid. Bloody great ramp over angles and flex was good. Could be better but again not bad for a stock car. Reckon there's not anywhere you couldn't take it after some of the corrugation up near
Maleny and Budederim through the forestry tracks.
Oh - are you meant to run these things in???? :)
This 6 day thing, what we up to now, does this warrant a new thread or is it like the 40 days and 40 nights things.
Straight out of the showroom I'd think tyres would be the weak link, Have to be one one of the better std 4x4 from the show room
There is an imaginary point on your back window you need to remember, most 4x4s will be more capable than any driver. pick this point on the rear window and remember it .it your tilt or roll over point, comes in handy, with the pucker button on the seat covers. You know you've done well well seat covers follow you out of the 4by lol
Sounds like time for a new thread...... :) But still in love with the new beastie...
Who wouldn't be I'd be sleeping in it If I could fit
