Having spoken with a few mechanics & auto transmissions places about my issue, it sounds like I'm better off taking my patrol to an auto electrician.

Hi Gav72, I have the same problem with my 4.8 and I was wondering if you ever found out what the problem was.
I have spent thousands chasing it and it's killing me.
