12V Fans. Tis' getting hot!

I've got the 743 (around 40$) and it was originally too loud to use while you try and sleep (only time we use them)I had to put a variable speed controller on it to limit it to 3/4 speed also the on/ off button broke as I think its a bit of a poor design and its right on the middle of the fan, great fan but this was my experience with this model.

next time I would look at one with different speeds

Yep, we normally find the low or medium speed quite sufficient at night, the 757 is 2 speed & the scirocco 3 speed. Maybe the two blade models are also quieter than the 4 blade ones to?

Possibly, but I think its more the motor having a slight screaming sound at higher speeds than the blades.
I would think that the fans speed divided by 4 to give 3 speeds low would be the same as our USB fans

i would think 4 blades would be quieter but thats from a chopper POV

Yes, more blades are quieter.

you could try your local Jayco caravan sales place
they have ones like this,

comes with a light as well....... not sure of the price, but my last ones I had - they lasted something like 10yrs....
got new ones with my new van, so the old ones went with the old van......

That looks good, is that ducting on top? And is the fan reversible ?

no, thats the "pole" for the bed end on a Jayco Flamingo - or the Hocky stick for the Expanda Van......
it holds the canvas up off your head etc.....

its 12V, so turn the wires around........?????
I dont know if its reversible...... never even looked......... or even tried to be honest.......

it has 2 clips on the top (how it is there in the Pic) to grab the pole - fan downwards - light sideways
and one on the end, if you want it with the light downwards - and fan sideways

the other end is just an RCA plug..........
