It is better to use relays for head and tail lights to minimize the current that goes through the switch and get brighter light.

Or change the tail lights to led. Problem solved.
So I had what I thought was a major issue with my transfer case, it would pop out of low range all the time.
After spending the last 2 months thinking I would have to drop it and source new parts etc I managed to fix the problem in a minute.
Literally one minute.
The shifter boot was on backwards.
I feel like an idiot for not noticing before, but I bought it thinking it had a stuffed transfer, so that makes me feel a bit better. :D:D
Oops, the roof fell off!
Muddies and roof rack fitted, exhaust connected back up and fridge wiring loom temporarily in place (will be done permanently once I get a dual battery system). She's all ready for her maiden camping voyage now! :)
Finally got some new pics too, and took a couple of photos with the silver shorty (which looks ghey with the crappy road tyres.
With the exhaust and muddies the MK feels like a different car. The engine is a lot quieter, but farrrrrrk me I thought it was slow with no exhaust. It feels gutless now, not as much in the top end and feels less torquey, more smoke than I remember too as I found out when accelerating heavily... oops... The muddies are worn quite unevenly from the silver car and as a result I have a pretty strong steering pull and a bit of a shake in the steering at about 80km/h, going to try swapping wheels back to front as the rears seem to have worn a little better, should have really checked that before I bolted them up.
Anyway, pic dump.
I like this pic, the old girl looks tough.

Attachment 47154I actually bought old yella a few months ago and am currently doing a full rebuild with the body for my gq chassis. Once the car was stripped the body was actually in awesome condition. Just a couple panels and doors needed scrapping. She will be a mental looking rig when she's finished.
Here's my mq bodied gq chassis v8 5 speed patrol. Old yella's body is replacing this one. Attachment 47155Attachment 47156Attachment 47157Attachment 47158
