can someone explain why a lot of photos are downloading sideways
All Ive done is change laptops and the new one post the pictures
sideways. Even if I turn them the other way before posting they still
post up sideways, very annoying, I use chrome if thats of any use
Try putting the laptop on its side when you post
>>>tappin from tassie
Seems to be with this forum or any forum in my experience, looks OK on your computer then upload it here and its on its side. I've rotated it onto it side then back again and saved it on the laptop and it seems to fix it. Bloody annoying though.
John, Take 1 photo with phone vertical how you would normally take a photo then turn the phone 180 deg and take the photo again then upload it here please.
Not really true gubigfish its not just forum based
Most modern cameras have a rotation sensor which writes an orientation EXIF tag into the photo file to tell your software how to turn the photo for display. However, there are some situations in which your photo will not be rotated properly and will display sideways. Some software does not utilize the orientation tag written by the camera.
When you upload photos online, "most" sites will also read the orientation EXIF tag and display the photos properly. In those cases where it does not, you can usually find a rotation button or icon to turn the photo to the proper orientation without having to correct the rotation locally and upload the photo again. Look for a pair of arrows, or a page icon with an arrow over it. Using desktop software that handles orientation properly should eliminate any issues of photos displaying sideways after you post them online
Talking of phones, did you ever manage to get the S4 going?
Nah mate, I bought a power button and my old man attempted to soldier it on but he doesn't have a steady hand and there are 5 solder joints on it.
Tries some local phone and computer place but no one wanted 2 tough it.
I really miss that phone :(
Once I'm back in full time work and gotten a head a bit, I'll send it of somewhere 2 get repaired.
The other thing I was thinking of doing was just finding a second hand 1 on fleabay that has a cracked screen which will probable work out cheaper than getting it repaired
Ahhh thats a buggah...... I'd say I'd do it for ya but my hands arent too steady these days either, eyes are shot too lol..... my work mate gets back on Monday, I'll have a word with him and see if he's got any ideas. Sending it over here for him to look at it will be cheaper than getting it fixed iver there.
Heres 2 pics one taken "vertical" the other side ways
Wow thats not what expected now ill re do the twisting the image
on the phone first
2nd go see how this goes
given up GRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr no idea why it does this
Forget the pics,,,,, As some may know my other laptop is no more, and I wanted to retrieve all my pictures from it.
The USB port is RS so I brought a SD card. Ive reformatted it and retrieved all my pics which is great.
Question is can I just insert or remove the SD card at any time or do I need to log off or something like that.
Way too hi tech for me He He
Thanks Rusty you da man LOL
Found another 2250 pics in my old lap top they are being transfered onto a SD card
and then Ill seperate them into different folders, That I know wow not bad for a luddite lol
Again thanks Rusty
Not sure if this is common knowledge But Ive noticed a lot of pictures are being posted sideways.
After a little test I found if I hold the phone upright the pic can be posted right way around.
If I hold the phone side ways the picture will be sideways when posted, might mean nothing
just saying.
Might add after taking a pic and cropping it I then bluetooth it over to the laptop.
Yes they should post the right way around unless you change the way you hold the phone when you take a picture.
Read this, although it may confuse the shit outta ya: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchan...ge_file_format
Anyone know how to save a single page from a PDF? Cant figure it out. Trawling through the service manual and found a few interesting pages I want to save to my desktop. Printing them isnt an issue, just saving it.
Mate just set the page you want on the screen, and then screenshot it... Crop in Paint and then print as PDF. Tada! You have a single page PDF file... Yes you won't have text options, but it's something.
Yeah but I lose quality of the file. Its comes out a little blurry. I just realised my other laptop probably can do it as it has the Pro version of Adobe PDF on it. I forgot I wasn't on it and I'm just viewing through the free PDF viewer....
Just thinking can you select print in whatever you use to view the PDF (Acrobat I'm guessing), and then in print options select page to be printed, and then Print as PDF?
Just not sure if it lets you print a PDF as a PDF if that makes sense. Not home right not to try it.
I can extract a single page under the document tap up top but I have Adobe Pro and it may not be possible with standard PDF reader.

I use either a program called pdf995 or bullzip.... both are freeware, so carefull what you download and install.
Once installed, open up the document, go to the page you want, select file, then print, then instead of selecting the printer, select pdf995 of bulIzip (whichever one you installed), then select current page. Then click on print, then it should allow you to name the file and where to save it...... job done
Mate, don't waste your money. Just get a free antivirus like Avira http://www.avira.com/en/free-antivirus-windows
I've been using it for years and years and never got any viruses
Heres a comparison site for freebies http://www.trustedreviews.com/best-f...virus_round-up
Refuse to pay for it when i dont need it. I know what sites NOT to go to and know what emails NOT to open.
Never had an issue yet....
Acutally i did have one issue once or twice. Self inflicted... I was on some warez website hunting for a specific keygen, and knew what was going to happen. And it did. This is why i have another laptop just for this type of searching.
I do wonder sometimes whether half the viruses around are actually created by the people who make the programs to protect you from them.

I don't use it either mate, viruses don't just appear on computers, the come from user error. So long as you don't install programs that sound to good to be true you will be fine. The problem is that most people just rush through things on computers and that's how you get viruses and malware

MS security essentials is what I use on my windows 7 machine.
Dont use your PC as an admin and the above software and you should be fine...within reason...:)
In that case Plassy. NOD32 gets my vote. Norton, was and still is a memory hogging program. Not such a big issue if your pc has oodles of ram. But NOD is a small yet powerful program.

When you first switch on your PC do you log in? If you do log in, do you log in as administrator or admin? If you do this is bad because if any nasty stuff comes in through your browser it will install automatically and after that point the Malware owns your PC. If you log in via a user you will always get a dialog box come up to ask you if you want something installed. If something like this pops up and you are not installing anything then you know there is something trying to get admin privileges and install on your system - not good!
If you dont log on when you first turn on your PC then this is even worse again!
