Thank you so much @Cuppa . As always, informative and wonderfully written.
The photos should be in a national gallery.
I particularly enjoyed the " Bearded Babbler".
Wonderful pictures and very pleasant reading as always Cuppa, thank you!
It amazes me that you know the names for every bird species! I wonder if you are a biologist by trade.
My latest ( the first of several I intend to write over the next couple of weeks) to bring us up to date.

And in quick succession this is the second post of the four I intend to write to bring us up to date with our travels. This was not one I found easy to write & it didn't turn out quite as I as I had imagined it would in my head but I think it gives the warts & all account of a difficult situation without going overboard with detail. Had I not restricted myself it would have become a 'novel'. As it is I finished it feeling 'finished' & just wanting to leave it all behind & start again, because that's what we have done.

We have moved on. Our latest blog post shows the Gibb River Road as few people get to see it & outlines how we have once again 'fallen on our feet'.

Jesus mate! I would have left soon after i got there.
This Jack guy sounds exactly like the flog and his wife who run Nockatunga station out at Noccundra where my daughter was working. For six weeks she was treated like dirt, yell at, put down, swore at. Sher got quite sick in the first two weeks there, vomiting and crapping every half hour. She was told to drive herself to hospital, 3 1/2 hours each way! We get calls almost every night and she was in tears. In the end, me the an wife made an overnight 1800K dash up there to get her, and another girl out of there under the cover of darkness.
Apparently the couple running Nockatunga are from the NT and have this reputation everywhere they go. Even the publication in Thargomindah 150k's away knows what goes on there. The police do also but choose to turn a blind eye.
Im glad you got out of there mate. Experiences like that certainly do leave a sour taste in your mouth.
