Thanks. Hope to get across the water some day.
If you want to see a really impressive map check out the one on this page. Belongs to a friend of mine from Adelaide who has a 4wd OKA motorhome he built himself. He & his wife took us over Skytrek in the Flinders ranges in it.
Next guess on the waterfall....... next state down ........ in one of the northern NSW national parks close to the border?
Correct Cuppa....it's NSW. I will accept the Falls name or the NP name (They are different). Close to the border yeppers.....couldn't get there in a "straight" line thou, ;)
Minyon Falls?
You are so close cuppa....right NP wrong falls!
Well I guess it has to be Protester Falls, Nightcap National Park then. Have seen Minyon, but don't think we saw Protester.
You have it! Over to you Cuppa! .....Protesters are well worth the visit when in the area. Nothing like standing at the base of them and looking up until you're neck can no longer arch back any further. They are perfectly framed by cliffs that look like they have been cut by man as they are all perfect square cutouts! I love this place....and it's resident Spotted Python that is about 15ft long (last time I was there) that just lazes around the rocks. Its like my spiritual homeland!
Ok, anyone recognise where this is?

Is it a hill near Birdsville?????????????????
Big Red
Ya got your Elephant Stamp TD. :)
It's the first dune you come to at the beginning of the Simpson Desert, coming from Birdsville. Not sure if it's Big Red or not. At the time we thought it was, but were told later that Big Red is the next one in, but that lots of people think this one is it. The steep part is off to the left of the pic. We rode out there from Birdsville on our bikes & parked the bikes at the bottom just out of shot. As we were leaving two 2wd station wagons, one towing a trailer arrived. The next day we met their owners in Birdsville. They had assumed that we had just ridden over the dune, thought therefore it would be manageable in their cars (duh!) & charged straight at it without even bothering to check it out. Of course they got well & truly bogged & spent several hours sweating in 40 degrees getting themselves out. By the time they told us their story & on realising that we hadn't ridden our bikes over they could see the funny side of it. :) These were the blokes that told us that it wasn't Big Red!!!
Your turn TD.
