The Knife Thread

@MB heres two leatherman I have in my collection the "Kick" I received with a subscription to then 4WD Monthly.
The other is just a handy tool to carry, the Kick stays in the console,

Haven't done a lot but did receive a new sharpie in the mail today.

Had been chasing an esee or equivalent knife for awhile without selling the house and took a gamble on a CIMA-1 fine edge that i came across on a flash sale.

Super sharp and impressed with the quality and is basically an esee 3 with 7cr17mov steel used with full tang.

How thick is the blade, and just about a dead ringer for the other knife,,,
good pick up

Blade is 4.5mm thick, very sturdy.

Here's a pic of the Esee 3, basically the same knife but 4-5 times cheaper.

Haven't had a chance to try the knife out yet but came across a good review on it including a stress test video from Joe Robinet Bushcraft, certainly impressed with how it performed.

TD suggested I put a photo up of this Buck knife , I believe it's a 184 survival knife originally designed for the navy seals but was too heavy , knife came with a compass and pouch and two screw in tangs that fix to the handle , supposedly for use as a grappling hook .
Keeps an edge and is very quick to sharpen with the stone attached to underside of sheath .

@mudnut - certainly an interesting way to do what appears to be a variation of a Damascus billet. No idea what powders he's using.
@GQtdauto - TD sent me a link to your knife before I had to scoot up north, an interesting knife to say the least. Personally wouldn't use it as a grappling hook but would be fine for throwing ropes as per the specs.
There were a few people I'd read about trying to use it as a hook that ended up failing badly, from what I understand it's a very sought after knife

@oncedisturbed heres that rubber handled Winchester bowie.
Has a very good weight to it so great for chopping and rubber
handle should last ages, I'll take it next trip as a I need to gather
some natural walking stick material
Bowie is about a 9.5" blade AO about 14.5 like the rest

Won't be using it as a grappling hook because I've misplaced one of the screw in tynes , the knife is too bulky and heavy for hunting unless your into the Rambo thing as I once was , bought the knife new around 32 years ago .
