Another Redfin
Now that my Q has blown im using the funds from the sale to buy a push bike and kayak with trailer I can still have fun haha
I hate those types of lakes wheee u cant take boats in the lakes rather a kayaking instead
good ole redfin is the most tastiest freshwater fish,,love em,we get them up to and around 4-5 lb in the rivers down here but most are around 1-2 lb.
Just got back from Gunbower Island. Loved the heat and the river. I caught so many silver perch (nice sizes too) that they out-numbered the carp. It was hard to have to release the buggers, but I suppose it is a good sign that they're breeding their way back from extinction. I didn't get a cod, but Dad caught three; 38cm 55cm and 58 cm. All good, fit and healthy returned to grow up so we can catch 'em in the future. We found a really good sand bank, where we expected to get a yellow belly or two, but just caught a few more silvers. I really didn't want to leave, but the real world needed attention.
Just got a letter from Wyndham council saying there has been some illegal and dangerous behaviour at the werribee south boat ramp (WSBR). They say "The behaviour involves individuals loosening tow bars and trailers attachments while parked at the WSBR..."
For those that use it, just keep an eye out.
So in other words nothing.
Surely the $16 ramp fee would have to cover some sort of surveillance to be put up some where, oh wait no, that's means another thing for the council so it would never happen.
Even if and I mean IF the coppers do waste their time and drive down to the ramp to patrol more often, it's still little comfort as it is still the easiest place for thieves.
Yeah Redfin highly under rated as a sport fish let alone as a table fish
I agree. How hard to put a internet camera up like they do at other places. Even surfers get cameras :( but I guess we would have to pay extra for that and seriously cops patrolling isn't going to do anything.
Don't know about you but I get nervous being one of the only cars in that car park, like you say an easy place for thieves.
Oh well maybe we could send TD down to sort em out ;) :)
No Probs I'll sit and watch while having a few frothies lol
Edit forgot you can fish off the jetty there
You think the Mighty Murray Cod would fall for this beauty

When spinner baits first came out I brought one for $15 and headed to the Goulbourn river just under the Hume hwy,
On the northern bank there is a gum tree visible from the HWY, my spinner bait is in it, first cast LOL
Spat the dummy big time as these spinner baits were the next best thing at the time, Pulled out my red Celta and pulled in a 2.5lb redfin, sweet revenge
Does or has anyone used a gut hook whilst cleaning fish, just interested if it would work
Can't show you at the moment but some hunting knives have a "gut Hook" on the blade
Yeah more hunting as in deer, just wondering if it would work on fish
Yeah I thought you were talking about something else. There's a fish gutting knife that is supposed to make things easier.
good to see we're on the same page, thought you were drifting there for awhile.lol
No doubt the fish gut hook is similar to the hunting one, we need to find some pics
Just read how the gut hook came about ,apparently it was to lift the billy off the fire
When is this wind gonna die down.
Tonight's tucker Attachment 39677
that's not nice gaddy very cruel , very cruel lol
the hook on this Leatherman is a gut hook of sorts
just to give you an idea
Its a few of the B grade for a feed the good stuff go for plane trip to Sydney on monday
Thought I would show how to check if a crab is full ,or empty a crab is empty it has just come out if the mud to feed up , which takes about 3 weeks , so throw it back you won't get a good feed , and and goes a long way to helping sustaining the resource , as this is also when they are feeling bit towie and looking for a girl ,
If it feeks spongy when you push as shown in my awsome picture it's empty . If its hard enjoy , picture is underside Attachment 39680

thought this was right for the fishing section, six seems too many in a hot climate if they are biting ,
4 seems a better target, just don't put your berly bucket on your belt lol
Has anyone fished the waters around Mathoura NSW, going there tomorrow morning, for a three day Bucks weekend.
Couldn't get any scrubbies, so hopefully. Get done in Echuca on the way to Mathoura.
Heres Bob's cod He caught it at Christies beach near Echuca, nearly took all his line
overnight, measured in at 650 so just legal, it was released after photos were taken.
Bob and Lorraine enjoying themselves along the murray ATM
