Lalala hurry up lol
Just been looking at intercoolers and is there any maths that come into play eg: diameter, size of cooler and so on... at what point is big too big and is there such thing as too small??
I am asking these questions as I am a complete noob when it comes to turbo's and intercoolers and even diesels now I mention it !!!! lol..!!
Wow so informative......... I think I just got dumber reading this thread !!!!!!
Not hard mr peanut...
Mattys your man bud...
Logic needs to come into play. The hot pressurised air comes out of the turbo and through the ic which cools the hot air before entering the engine.
Having a tiny intercooler means it will not cool down as effective as a larger one but that could be challenged based on brands, style, placement etc.
Same principal would apply for a top mount and a front mount. In theory an exact same size and brand ic would work better in a front mount then a top mount as the front mount is receiving cooler air around the ic (better cooling the air inside) and forced air if driving as opposed to a top mount which is receiving engine heat around it.
I'm spamming your thread??? You bone head I ask a reasonable question unlike these other bone heads you call mates and you pick me out.... your going down Batty !!!!!!!!
What does diameter have to do with it... serious question!!!
Larger diameter is more volume of air, more volume of colder air. In my case with the ht18 the 3" pipe is useless in fact probably making it worse but a larger turbo in the future is pushing more air that will flow faster through the 3" system and a larger pump to deliver more fuel makes it go broom broom better...
Matty....help me...lmao
Having saying all this I have a lot more restrictions in my set up to slow down the system.
My patroldocta airbox is restrictive
My elbow going into the inlet manifold and the existing nissan manifold is restrictive.
My 3" straight through exhaust is good.
As much volume of cold air as you can achieve in and as fast as you can remove the exhaust gasses out = good!!!
