Does the GQ have a metal dash Craig? The Q's have just as much plastic as the U's.:tease:

Yeah, but 90% of a U's plastic is on the outside.
I just happened to buy a 3 piece step drill from rocket tools today. Big one is the same as threedogs but the shank is turned down to fit quick change drivers and the other two are a little smaller.
Bought it to fit tail light globes to the gu dummy lights.
I was half way there but somone decided to try to burn down a doctors surgery half way through so i got interrupted. How rude.

Just ordered a big print of the photo at the pyramid.
It will go in the church
Obviously a million stories behind this picture but one story in particularly my old man always showed us at our local RSL of a fallen comrade whom they carried for a few days to be in this exact photo!
Quote:
Group portrait of all the original officers and men of the 11th Battalion, 3rd Brigade, AIF. The group of over 685 soldiers are spread over the side of the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) near Mena camp. Officers identified in the front row are, left to right: 2nd Lieutenant (Lt) F P Strickland; 2nd Lt J Newman; Major (Maj) S R Roberts; Lt J H Morgan; Captain (Capt) J S Denton; Capt A E J Croly; Capt Charles A Barnes; Lt K McLennan; Padre Fahey; Lt (later Capt) A P H Corley (later killed in action 17 September 1915); Lt (later Capt) C A La Nauze (later killed in action 28 June 1915); Capt J H Peck; Capt W R Annear; Capt R R Reilly; 2nd Lt M L Reid; Lt D H McDonald; Lieutenant Colonel J L Johnston; Capt R W Everett; Maj E A D Brockman (later MC); Capt E T Brennan; Capt R L Leane; 2nd Lt A H Darnell; 2nd Lt A H Priestley; Lt W H Rockliff; 2nd Lt J H Cooke (later killed in action 2 May 1915 ); 2nd Lt H James (later MC); 2nd Lt C F Buttle; 2nd Lt H H Walker (sitting); Lt J Williams (top). Missing are: 2nd Lt S H Jackson, Lt A R Selby and 2nd Lt A H MacFarlane. Capt Barnes records in his diary: 'After Church this morning the whole Battalion was marched up to the Pyramid (Old Cheops) and we had a photo took or at least several of them.' Amidst the training undertaken by the men, there was time on Sundays, days off and evenings when leave was granted to visit local sites of interest such as the pyramids, the Citadel and the many mosques in Cairo. The trams struggled to keep up with the demand and local transport such as carriages were heavily used. The cafes and restaurants of Cairo were also heavily patronised.
Curatorial note:
This well known and very popular photograph was originally lent to the Australian War Memorial in the 1930s by Colonel K McLennan MBE. A copy negative was made, accessioned as A02875 and Colonel McLennan's original print was returned.

im thinking of removing the cigaret lighter and putting it there so i can run the ipad and phone and just run a dedicated power cable to it from the battery with a inline fuse.
mine is one piece with both plugs, patrol is a dx so no flash antennae switch to get in the way, will have a look this arvo.
Not exactly Patrol related, but exciting (for me) nonetheless.

Yeah nice work Cuppa, very nice!
nice job cuppa, it will be all good for the winter mate warm and dry :)
Good progress Cuppa, looks nice.
Since I'm here, I bought this last week and it turned up yesterday.
Will have to test it on the weekend, but the initial impression is that it looks fine. I was wondering given the cheap delivered price. Will make my final verdict after testing it. Not so sure about the Hi-vis Orange as the colour for the bag (the bad is real flourescent, more than in the pic on the web).

Hi macca,
I've got one and tried it on a toymota, didn't want to try it on the Patrol as I was worried it might bend something underneath. Lifted a very heavy 80 series no problems at all.
Still not sure about where to place it under the Patrol as I can see it easily bending something or getting punctured depending on location.
I have read people putting a bit of carpet on top of the bag to stop punctures.
