Got the sump and balancer back on today and timing cover all torqued up. Should have the motor all back together tomorrow but don't have enough oil or coolant to run it.

New damper on it?
Nearly there.... http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...018/01/110.jpg

Got it running tonight and there are no leaks so far.
I am having an issue with vacuum though which was present before I started this job. I have no vacuum assistance in the brakes or clutch.
There is vacuum to both though but I'm not sure if it's enough? I wouldn't imagine both boosters going faulty at the exact same time.

Think I found my vacuum problem. It's a strange one though. If I block the hose going to the clutch booster then I have brakes working again. If I block the hose going to the brake booster I still have no clutch.
The 1 way valve on the brake line works as It should.
I pulled the clutch booster off and this is what I found.

Do ya reckon that was related to the previous clutch issues you had or different?

Hmmm very second hand by the looks of it. . .

New booster, clutch and brakes work perfectly and she is now road tested and ready for Australia day Murray River trip!

Gday Winnie nice rig mate...
Just got myself a 1990 TD42 and loving it...
Quick question ...my clutch feels the same at rest as is when its running...recon I need to do the same eh? Cant find leaks anywhere else.
After not having done anything to this car for so long I thought it was time to give it a treat.
Picked up a set of GU diffs from Roadrunner for a bargain.

I also grabbed their brace kit and got a mate to help me weld it on tonight.

Sweet, definitely one of the things I want done to mine.
I'll be taking mine off the road in the next month or so..... Time to give it some love
Yeah, I've not had any money to spend on the patrol for quite a while now so there are so many maintenance items that need doing it is not funny. It started to become a pig to drive.
Mrs has gone back to work full time now with a good job so it's time to get it back to where it should be. Will replace all bushes and swap out body mounts at the same time. All needs to be done before our week away at new years.

Awesome Winnie looks smick mate, heck of a lot easier to brace out of the car mine was a nightmare and some of the welds look like bird cr@p but whatever. . . Reckon you should seriously think about powder coating them instead of paint, never get the chance again stripped and out of car. Mine looked nice and all painted but after a bit of driving through vegetation and what not look like poo again pretty quick. . .

Couple of hundred should cover it maybe. Used a place in Moe before blast away sandblasting and he takes it to his mates for power coating, it's near the roundabout on the way out to Rawson. Will cost a bit extra but heaps worth it i reckon will look smick for years. . .

I had my SS snorkel done in Shepp and it cost $50. Bullbars were $150, reckon its probably a lot quicker than a bullbar, maybe the $100-125 at a guess. That included the light grit blast as well.
Did you tack the housing to the bench or anything? Maybe check it for straightness before installing the components as the weld can pull it a fair bit.
How'd he do the top brace, was it stiched bit by bit alternating sides or letting cool in between. ?

Maybe some v blocks and measure at different points to see. I machined a length of 4140 rod up that passed through the front centre and into the other side. It was bent to start with and the shaft would not go through. A smll amount of bend is probably ok but if its to much you will destroy axle seals.
Got the rear diff out today, putting the new one in tomorrow and making a start on the front. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2018/09/50.jpg

Sweet...looking to GU my drive train...get a wider wheel track that bolts straight in eh...One day:049:
I have got the front diff in now, time to assemble the swivel hubs this weekend and then we should be ready to go for a drive!
Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Front diff is in, everything is done now except for bleeding the brakes. Will do that in the morning and then take it for a drive!

Just finished it all and took it for a drive. Holy shit it drives like a luxury car!! Every bush I replaced hadwell and truly expired, hence the incredible difference in ride quality. The brake upgrade is pretty bloody massive as well, my head nearly went through the windscreen!
