Yo OD can you make that sheath to suit a Winchester,
I think I'll be taking that camping more so than the Schrade bowie
If you have already started forget this request
New Rough Rider knife came in, got wet and damaged by AustPost, seller was great about it and has sent me a liner lock from his own collection as an apology gift.
Managed to polish out most of the rust but does need another going over and the tip needs a re-sharpen as it has etched.
Leather sheath needs to be replaced as it was soggy and the press studs have corroded.
Here are some before an after pics.

that came up well, I know a bloke who can make you a new sheath he he he
That knife looks very fox& hound to me??
Havent had a go at the Kukri yet, can only stand for 5 min if that ATM GGRRrrrrrrrrr
Still waiting for my Schrade pro-hunter skinner to arrive, hopefully tomorrow?
Still needs more work though, only managed a quick 5 minute polish this time. Used fine grade sharpening oil with 0000 grade super fine steel wool, bolsters were a 2 second wipe with brasso.
I know how you feel with restricted movements etc

This one is 15cm overall and fits in the wrist to get behind the gut membrane to cut all the tissue holding it onto the body. Twisted domascus with stag antler handle and leather pouch

You'll need a butchers bucket and a steel on a chain lol
R Dexter make a mean knife,
That Dexter looks like it should hold an edge pretty well. I like the look of the Damascus skinner but not that keen on the thumb jigging on the spine.
What is the edge like on the Damascus skinner?
The art of making true Damascus steel is basically lost now, there is no "true" information on its origin or how it was traditionally made anymore, most is guess work and tempering normal steel with an acid etch wash over it to give the Damascus feel.
TD and I put up a link early on in the thread to Alabama or Arkansas Damascus forge, I forget which one but they have quite a bit of info on there about it and they produce a lot of Damascus products including blank piece to design and make your own including pre-made knife blanks ready for edging and handle scales, bolsters etc.
There is an FB page called "Knifeworks / Knifeworx" that have a lot of makers sharing info and selling items, same with IKnifecollector (FB and own website) and also the CKCA page (Custom Knife Collectors Association) and their respective website.
Their is no "official" knife collector's guild / association per se in Oz anymore BUT there are some slowly springing up around the place including militaria etc. CKCA is a good mob as is iKC, both based in the U.S.
They do a lot of shows, meetings, demos, info sessions and lobbying all over the place.
IKC do a lot with Queens Cutlery, Smokey Mountain Knife Works and a lot of other big brand crafters, always a good read on the forums.
