Ok ok, you guys have big effed up round abouts. This is Tassie, it was a single lane round about and the driver wasn't a tourist. I just didnt like how the cop blamed speeding, drink driving and not driving to the conditions.

I have a house full of guests and our stove let the magic smoke out accompanied by a 'PHZZZT' sound this morning. On top of that I found the front drivers side tyre on Mrs mudsane's van has chewed out, and the first layers of belt are showing. I had the steering repaired and aligned only a month ago!! Welcome to the pot hole state!!
I'm sure our shire engineers the roads with potholes in to start with....like in the plans.
Some local piece of s*** still setting of fireworks and crackers even at 5am. Started at 10 and didn't stop ... Must have consumed a whole container load. Even the next door neighbor cracked the s**** at about 3am jumped in the car and drove around looking for the f***wit.
Like seriously it's NYE and all, celebrate it but, have some decency to know when to call it quits.
Ok, major rant coming....
A few days ago, some friends and I were fishing on a beach north of Perth, here in WA. As we were setting up our spot, one of my friends heard/saw vehicles coming out of the dunes, doing donuts and generally just going nuts. My friends comment was " look at these clowns. How soon before one of them puts it on there roof?"
Not 5 minutes later, one of them was on its roof.
Thankfully, no one was injured but the comment from the driver "I wasn't doing anything stupid." Was so typical... And of course his vehicle only flipped itself onto its roof because it wanted an all over tan....
Another common comment was "you did dumb stuff when you were young!".... And of course the answer is yes, I did. What then is the difference? I have been in 4WD clubs since I got my license at 15. Since then I have been on numerous driving courses, including advanced and instructor courses. I was taught to push the absolute limits of my vehicle... The difference was it was done in a such a manner that, if it went wrong, everyone was safe. Damage was an acknowledged and accepted risk if it were to occur.
Why then the rant? As we drove into this beech, there we witnessed people driving in excess of 60+ Kms down the beach! with passengers either seated in the tray of a ute or standing on the back or sides of vehicles. I saw one vehicle with very young children standing on the running board of a 4wd, thankfully driving slowly.... But why does this pi$$ me off? Because I have seen a kid doing this fall off, having had hid vehicle hit a bump. He was then run over by one of the family travelling just behind. All had been drinking...
Why is it this behaviour is fine when drinking and on holiday at the beach, irrespective of who else may happen to be there?
Add to that, the news of a death at the same beach over night from a brawl... Happy new year for some.
