pics are there now sorry i forgot to add them
ok, most the drivers seemed to install fine but;
1. The bluetooth driver kept saying that "device needs to be turned on".
2. There were 3 different drivers refering to wireless. Atheros 2011 wireless LAN, Intel Pro/wireless, Broadcom wireless. I just put them all on. Is this bad?
I think the sound may be louder now when watching youtube or playing music but its still quiet when trying to watch the vids off the usb stick. I reckon it must have been put on the quietly lol
FFS!!!
All I did was put a few of those drivers on them test the video playback and it was fine (but not much louder).
I just sat down to watch a vid off the stick and now it's glitching and freezing and the sound is all twisted! What the f&ck!? Ive done nothing to it since I tested it after putting the drivers on!
I was on battery power when I wrote the above. It went a bit better when I plugged it in.
Just played with the power settings and put them up to high quality instead of power save and it seems to be working now. Could this be the solution?
Easily could be as the processor speed on most laptops will actually drop while on power save mode. Try running the video not full screen if you are not running on power and it "should" play OK.
Not sure if anyone would even know the answer but anyways...
At the expo coming up I would like to run a big laptop running the you4wd map to show people at the show how it all works.
I will be connecting it to the wireless 4G to get internet access.
My concern is being in an area with 100,000 people that the internet will not work?
If you remember when you go to the footy or a rock concert with thousands of people the phone and 3G sometimes doesnt work due to the amount of devices trying to connect in a small space.
Would I be right in assuming the 4G wireless modem will be better then everyone's phones and will work ok?
Wish they could do the same at the MCG.....3/4G coverage is rubbish there when there is a game on.
AB, you should investigate whether exhibitors have access to a WiFi network at the show. I would be very surprised if there wasn't one available.

That is a good idea actually.
I have the screen recorder at work and could do a tutorial on how it works and pick good vids to put on place marks to show etc. show to use the site and how to upload videos etc.
Right so the clock on my laptop was two hours fast after reinstalling windows. I finally decided to fix it this morning. The time zone was set to USA somewhere so easy fix I thought..... I put the time zone to Hobart but that's 5 hours fast???? I tried other aussie cities and they were all fast. Wtf is going on? Have I been off work that long that I don't know what time is anymore!? Lol
hey mate after you change the timezone have you synced with a time server to optain the most recent time?
yeah automatic but it doesnt happen immediately. see below pics for where to go;
Click the Clock and click Change time and date settings…
Under the Internet Time tab, click Change Settings

Check Synchronize time with an Internet time server. I chose to use the default windows.time.com, click Update now, and click OK

When you reboot the lappy. Hit F8, it should be for yours, so it goes into the bios. Change the time in there. Then it won't be wrong as it doesn't go by time zones, it goes by what you put in there...
thats not entirely true mate, but your on the right track. the OS will confer with the BIOS regarding date and time, but inevitably it will look for an actual time server. there should be no reason why lucas's BIOS time would be different, when we helped him through the fresh install of his OS the BIOS battery wasnt removed, infact most computer bios batteries are soldered in as they should never be removed.
Yeah I couldn't remember if you guys had him remove the bios battery when he did this a while back. But. In all the laptops and especially desktops I have built i have never seen a battery soldiered in. But theres a first for everything. I just threw out half a dozen laptop mobo's in a massive cupboard clean out and none of them had soldered batteries.
Yup agree on what mudski said. I've gone through more mobos than undies (desktop ones) and never seen a perma-fitted or soldered battery. They're meant to be removable for BIOS reset. Some newer mobos now have a button, to short out and reset the BIOS, but even they have the battery slotted not soldered.
Whats rusty said was spot on, it should sync with the server, but I have seen it be out even when synced.

there are three examples different computers with a permanantly attached battery. the reason they are permanantly attached hodge is to prevent that exact thing. laptop computers are easy to steal, locking down a BIOS with a password is a deterrent to prevent the thief being able to use the device. another application would be in an enterprise situation where users of the device (such as at my school) do not need access to the BIOS and if they were to try remove the battery they would have to cut it permanantly.
Mudski =P my cupboard is bigger than yours so ner hahahahahaha:

Sweet as! Thanks guys :-)
Long story short as I cannot be bothered explaining the situation...lol
Is there anything I can do to find out a computer password on windows 7 home premium edition?
There's no password hint and my brother changed the password years ago and can't remember it.
I can't find the cd either!!!!!
Also, you can download the ERD Commander, burn it to the CD, boot system from this CD and it has the function - delete password.

Hey guys i used to have a photobucket account but i haven't used it for a while. It didnt seem be as good as it could be and not very easy to use. Im willing to cut my losses and start with a new hosting site. Ill only be using it minimally to host a few pics for this forum.
Any suggestions on a good site?
Really? So do they come out large? I havent used the laptop to access the forum for a long time and ive just seen that the "Go Advance" reply is different than last time. The photos im talking about would more likely be tech or sample pics not awesome 4wding pics for the gallery
I upload all my images to the forum Lucas, They still come out pretty large even when I reduce them
Hey Lucas, I use google drive for all my photos/videos/document storage. $2/month for 100gb plus 15gb free so a heap of storage....just like another hard drive on your computer and you can make any photos public for anyone to view or keep it private for your porn ones:)
