Insufficient excuse.
I'm running winch rope for Winnie, I caution further that these are very serious tracks. My GQ is still off the road but keen for a look. Anyone wanting to bring their car should certainly be willing to scrape and dent.
Navis should be experienced in winch recovery and no responsibility will be taken by the Navi if it goes badly. Saying that both Driver and Navi must be highly competent.
To Winnie, Rossco and AB this is off the chart a new level guys, I know your all keen, eyes wide open fellas. Shit gets serious quickly.
Pack your swag, head Torch and as much recovery gear as you have.
Look forward to it.
I reckon a standard red Q would have no troubles without a silly bull bar...lol what you reckon boys??
This is the stuff that I'll love to do. Technical.
Biggest problem I've got is that it has to get me to work after the trip. That and the fact that there's no locker. No point winching everywhere.
Wouldn't mine jumping in a empty seat if there's one available.
Just had a thought gents.
If it's extreme or code red fire day that day then we should postpone until the following weekend.
Stuck on that track or in that area with 38 degrees and 100km winds will not be fun.
Just been reading a post on Facebook about Ellis track, few people been driving it this week and they all say that it's not too bad in the dry, all the hard lines are drivable without winching.
I reckon it would be interesting with a tail wind bearing fire

It is definitely driveable, as I picked out a line and was on my way up, but it is definitely not easy ...... :driving2:
Gotta be prepared for body damage though ..... a few months back when we were there, we were at the bottom going up, and I was not leading the trip and most of our guys were going up the chicken tracks up the side and were still a little undecided in the dry and I ended up on my lonesome as no-one else was prepared to give it a go ...... we all have daily drivers so i totally understand, and even though I use my truck for what it is designed for, i always cry at any damage
Looks like it's gonna be a 3 car trip. Get ready fellas!
Yeah should be good. Drove past the bottom of it today, should have gone up in the work ute. . . . .
Ohhh did you have a quick sneaky look?
Nah couldn't be stuffed. Big day and was a getting a bit pooped 😴 probably have to get a bit of the way till the good bits start too i think.
What is the departure time for this trip..?
What's the go with Lunch and maybe even dinner depending on how long we are out for.
I reckon earlier. Could meet in yarra junction or at the corner of yarra junction - noojee rd and Tarrango rd, there's a good big gravel cat Park there. Assume you'll be coming through powelly winnie, we'll be coming in through YJ so it saves any of us doubling back. I'm keen to go early but then again me & AB have the shortest drive. Lunch on the trails too i reckon.
Well when you have worked it out Rossco as I will have to drive up to your place bright and chirpy.
It's 45 min to the car park from chrissy Hills so let's say 1 hour with a coffee stop. So meet @ 9.00 at the junction so 8.00 at chrissy Hills or earlier I'm easy ?. . . .
Yeah pump is still temperamental doesn't like big hills on the highway. Going to change fuel filters on the weekend and take it for a bit of a spin. Decided to wait till dieseltek get back from their extended holiday on the 27th them give them some of my hard earned money.
