So far it looks like Blue Mountains.....we;ll see what happens after a week or so?
What happened to loveday?? I'm meeting Westy over there=)
Hey Andy, as the Border Track is closed can you replace it with Loveday as an option in the poll?
Blue Mountains is our vote
Voted otaways. Cops pulled me up in dargo so not worried too much
Any more voters???
Who's keen
Wynyard pub!
tappin from tassie
Usually down on Goolwa beach for Australia day but Loveday could be interesting.
OK, looks like Blue Mountains have the vote. I think we have had plenty of time for everyone to vote.
So put your name down if you are definitely coming. Dates are January 23 to 26th but people are welcome to start early and finish late...lol
We are thinking a base camp and move around and enjoy the scenery through the days...and there's lots.
Nick "Rustnails" will confirm the camp spot soon on consultation with some other locals.
I may put up a separate thread with specific details if there's enough interest
im keen, definitely in.
after speaking to Rocket55 hes advised me that Newnes is by far the best campsite, and gives us plenty of access to many tracks and scenic drives around the area.
check out the campground and the area here
Looks like a great spot blokes!
I'm a maybe hopefully.
10 hours for us Mexicans?
Newnes is an awesome spot to camp especiaĺly for large groups.
The big camp ground at very end of the road is probably the best for big groups but there are plenty of other spots on either side of the river.
Its about a half hour drive back to the top of the plateu where there are pretty good tracks in any direction you take.
I grew up about half an hour away from the wolgan valley and spent god knows how many days camping around there newnes is still one of my favorite places ive ever been.
Maybe I might have to go home for a visit my oldies around oz day[emoji6]

It's a pretty huge area. If you turn right at Newnes pub (which is not a pub...) and go over the creek you only compete with other 4by drivers as the soft readers will stay in the main park. Even over on the 4by side it's still 5 plus footy fields in size. Here's couple of pics of the camp grounds on the 4wd side of the creek. The creek crossing is not hard, the last few times I've done it in 2wd, but it's enough to keep the dunnydoors and Lasers out. Here's a couple of pics of previous outings there.

Here's a quick clip of a the creek crossing in 2wd, pretty straight forward.

Here's a shameless plug from another site, but I'm yet to find a better post identifying all the tracks around the area.

If I can drive 3,500ks to be there surely you can do a 10 hour drive Princess....

Looks like I'm out unfortunately, promised the grandkids we'd go camping but no way I get them for the time required to do the Blue Mountains. Would love to visit the area but can only do something within a day's drive (some complicated family issues involved).
Could have done Loveday but looks like it might be a couple of nights in the Otways.
Enjoy the trip guys and gals.
I should be able to make it
Looks like a beautiful place and I have put it on my places to go list but a bit too far for a weekend trip from Adelaide unfortunately.
oi Kat, you and steve gonna come along? i believe you guys actually suggested this location?
