Just figured out why it looked familiar,
To me it looks like the Wenlock crossing at Cape York before they built the causway thing,
Down stream of the crossing instead of pebbles there was a big sandy area.
Lucky enough to catch my first Barra there too 800mm out of such a small body of water too
I took the family around Australia for 9 months in 2014 tow vehicle 2000 GU patrol 3.0 and van is Kokoda Battalion triple bunk. Amazing camp sites all the way round. This one is at St Lawrence Reserve.
Probably the coldest we have ever being camping this was at Firth park Wombat -2 overnight. the only green was where the trees are.

Hi jay see, would you edit your post above again please mate. With more than one photo per post it makes it impossible for votes to be cast for individual entries at the end of the month.
Cheers

Entry 1: Howqua river campsite ( Running creek camp)

Nice photochopping there Eric.... Can you get to that camp site with a normal car? Its been a very long time since I have been to that camp. Every Easter we go camping with my Sister inlaw a her family. They only have a Camry, so we are limited to where we can go.
I love going down to Sheepyards and Fry's and further upstream to Six mile but I dare not mention there as a suggestion to the missus. lol.
The site in the photo is 2 river crossings away from the main "Running Creek" camp. And no chance you'll get there with a normal car. Even though water is shallow, especially in summer. There is large boulders in the river, so 4x4 is a must.... You can also come from the north, but there is some very steep tracks through jamieson to get to it.
But you will get to the main Running Creek camp site (large open family site), with a normal car with ease.
Hope this helps.
