What tyres you looking at getting matt all km2's ? And same sizes?
Well if you want another set for a bargaining tool I'll be needing some soon so if they will knock off more for 5 sets instead of 4 let me know and I'll get a set with you I think I'd be getting some 285 70 17s(would have to confirm size).
If not not a problem as they aren't needed just yet but soon enough.
Good pick up, look forward to your initial thoughts on them,
Hope the off-set is ok,
This is mine with 305's MTZ fitted
I found my 285s were scrubbing at full flex on nissan standard rims will see they are marked posted on blue star couriers
My federals are the cause to my wheel wobbles I am fairly sure. My long time mechanic has always had problems with balancing federals as well. And as for tyres, my father runs MTZ's and has been very happy with them. Can often be found for a good price.
I dont want micky T again while my atz 4 rib provided great grip they had big chunks out of them with hardly any 4wding and I hear the mtz really dont like wheelspin
My 285s only just scrub on the body in the rear arch on full flex, I think my offset is -22.. I think
Neg 13's for me.
Im getting a neg 25 rim to help with scrubbing nissan rims are 0 offset
So far mate Jax are not cheaper mate. I have given him the prices from Cornell's and waiting on a call back if he can get them down a little more then it will be worth my while to get them through them but it won't really work out to be a better deal. It will work out to be very close to the same.
When i called Jax at capalaba before i got mine, the bloke told me his price, i told him what i could get them for, and he went off. Making all kinds of claims about Don Cornells. He was saying they are fake, and dont have the same ply or load rating. I called Don Cornells and told him what the bloke at jax said, and he set it all straight for me. They arent fake, they are exactly the same, he also said that jax probably buys them from Cornells for the same price i could get them, thats why the bloke at jax was so pissed. I bought mine from cornells cause the bloke at Jax pissed me off. Bad customer service, no sale.
Yep their service is not good used to use them all the time , for what I wanted they were the dearest in capalaba 12 months ago , I ended up at bridgestone capalaba , as they were the cheapest at the time , which suprised me , their is something like 10 tyre retailers in a km stretch of road , I just played them all against one another ,
Wow that's not good at all lhurley, who did you speak with? I never had any issues at Jax they where really helpful for me.
So far the jax store I have been dealing has been very good. I mentioned Cornell's and he pointed out what I already knew about them being parallel imported by Cornell's. I have received 2 phone calls so far from the jax rep and he has been very good.
If Jax can get their prices down just a little more then I will probably use them due to ease of logistics. I will reiterate that the costings will be pretty much the same by the end of it.
They delivered them to a trucking depo/warehouse thing at rocklea. Roll up, tell them who you are, they go get it and your away.
No idea mate. It was a around 9 months ago. Guess the bloke wasnt real keen on a $1200 sale that day
Small update.
I am still yet to get a final price from the Jax store I have been dealing with. However the service from their rep has been quite good. He has been very positive and does not want to lose my business obviously because of the size of the order, he has had trouble getting a response from the Michelin rep hence I don't have one either.
OK Final Update.
The jax rep has been very helpful. However he was unable to move on his first quoted prices. For a couple of sizes they are close enough that we are going to get them through jax for ease of logistics. The sizes that troy was after were well out compared to Cornells.
Prices Below.
315/75/R16 Jax- $400 Cornells- $375
33/12.5/R15 Jax- $360 Cornells- $310
31/10.5/R15 Jax- $260 Cornells- $210
All Jax prices are fitted and balanced and all Cornells are delivered to a depot in rocklea. LachDiggity you must have got them at a good time as everyone I have spoken cannot match the prices from the outlets down south. Macca you got a sweet deal.
315/75/R16 Jax- $400 Cornells- $375 huntsman - $375
33/12.5/R15 Jax- $360 Cornells- $310 huntsman - $345
31/10.5/R15 Jax- $260 Cornells- $210 huntsman - $280
For my size I wanted 305/70/16 huntsman were $305 a tyre plus huntsman delivered to my house not some depot
So it turns out I did get a good deal then
Also the tyres were fitted and balanced well and on 40psi when I put them on
Yeah that's a shame they wouldn't do them for the same price, but with how relaxed they where about it I assume they would have done the same for everyone. I think Cornells may have up their price $25 a piece when I was looking 3 or 4 months ago they where only quoting $350, may be due to the KM2's increasing popularity.
