There are 7 vids in jimna that are filmed in land cruiser mountain park
Hey mate, that button will pull the videos you have uploaded to the you4wd site, not your YouTube videos.
No, it is not automatic, It's a script that goes and fetch unfortunately, if I left it automatic the entire world map would end up a disaster of unrelated videos.
Keep the questions and feed back coming gents, thanks Nic....Your other post with the dead page with no link is helpful, I'll fix that tonight mate, thank you!!!
Hey mate, thanks for your support...
As for 4x4Earth. Completely different to them mate. They run mainly on the forum for networking and trip reports, photos, rainfall and general trip planning on their map database, etc. This is more towards a fun media outlet dedicated to watching 4wd videos around the world. Not a social network forum set up. 4x4Earth do not have a great deal of videos. Purely images, small report and scripts that pull in data of average weather.

This vid at archer field isn't playing also though I am on the ipad..
Mate, download the app...
When you take a video, open the app and press record. Whilst you are recording, the video is keeping the data of the location. When finished, save the video.
Get home to WIFI, upload the video on the app and name it, etc. Job done, the app will automatically put the video on the map of where it was taken and the details you put in. Your video will also upload to your own YouTube account as if you were normally uploading to YouTube.
Easy done!
Hi everyone...Nic just commented on videos in the site which were no good.
That helps a lot as I get reports on all the comments so I easily removed the effected videos.
If anyone else sees videos that are not in the correct location just put a comment on the video that this is incorrect and I will remove them.
Shared on nissanpatrol.com.au FB page :)
Ok, someone just PM me with incorrect coordinates of a video. If you see incorrect coordinates then just comment on the video with the correct coordinates or send me a PM, etc with the right location and I'll sort it out.
Holy crap, I am going to be a busy boy!!!....LMAO
Yes mate, "as I cringe with more work to do...lol"
Nah it needs to be correct mate, go for it....If you comment the video and give the correct gps coordinates that would be a huge time saver as I cant just zoom into the map and guess where it should be. I only know my area with birds eye views unfortunately.
Great idea AB - will see if I can add a run or two here down south. Have lobbed it up on Performance Forum in the 4x4 section. Should keep you double busy with this place and your new hobby
What Mods??????, did you just volunteer yourself *L*
Just remember these are two different sites and there is just Andy there
Maybe it would be easier if you emailed Andy via the info@you4wd.com rather than posting questions up here.
Andy's call though.
Give the guy a break lmao he's just getting his post count up:tongue:
I don't want mods or anyone doing any work on this....It's my mistake and the mods here do enough already rather than the burden this new monster will bring...LMAO
We all know you mods just sit around sipping JD's waving the ban stick like a Fly swatter.. :p lol
Didn't know it you had a left hand man helping you on the New site seeing you now have 3 jobs..
And with a bun in the oven, Man your Never going to sleep..
fantastic effort andy love your work
patrol bocked into have recall done will show them this also arb are next door will pop in also
Just wondering what happens if somebody posts a video of something they should not be doing, as its gps and I guess date referenced parks etc could use as evidence to close tracks?
Yep it's silly, but now it will be easier for them to see the activity in an area. Not sure what could be done about it though
Had lots of fights over track closures before don't want to go into it here.
Understand mate, as mentioned in earlier posts if anyone notices any of these videos simply comment on the video and it will get removed, no probs.
Is it possible to restrict locations from uploading dated vids during seasonal closure times of year?
For sure mate I understand.
I have spent a huge amount of time developing a great admin portal to manage all incoming videos which need to be approved by me which I will monitor.
For the best of my ability I will try my best to keep this clean but will also be reliant on users to help me report any illegal activities.
I understand what you are saying with the gps location but if any parks or council wanted to check their area they can just simply type those keywords into YouTube of their state forest and it will bring up an enormous amount of videos which they can identify tracks.
I know my area quite well and if I type in Toolangi state forest you can pretty much identify every track in the vids by just looking at them.
As mentioned, if anyone finds any videos that are not appropriate, just put a comment on the video and I will remove them.
You tube is a lot harder to troll through than a library that is already catalogued.
I was wondering if you could have a "agreement" page each time somebody uploads that states that the video has been filmed on a gazetted track that is not seasonally closed. That way you are making people aware.
If you want to discuss track closures further pm me your number and I will let you know what we have gone through.
