Hard top mate and no storage on inside
grab some 4" pvc cap one end and glue a screw cap to the other, voila instant rod holder,
you can even make them lockable. Use long hose clamps or very big cable ties to hold in place.
safe dustproof, can fit heaps of rods
Lol no good for leaving the reels on though mate.
Although I did just find

Not sure how that would work with a ARB basket though
Warwick
Your not keen on bull bar or roof rack mounts??
Not really keen on bullbar mounts for long distances and I don't really want the reels and rod coping that much sand and weather damage on the front of the car 24/7 for over a month.
Roof rack? Arb basket mounted on gutter. As said above jack on one side and awning on the other.
No room inside the car
No room inside the camper because of no storage.
Don't "WANT" the PVC pipe option to be the only one because i want to save time rigging the rods every time it want to use them
6"5 flick rod
I like that Thule castaway box but not sure on the practicality of it with the basket on the roof and taking up precious basket room although I'm sure I'd fit stuff under the rods.
Don't have a welder.
Love my rods.
Yes single piece.
And yes bugga lol
Is it possible to mount anything on top of your camper? then you could just remove them before setting up the camper.
Put the butts between the roof and cargo barrier , and make a bracket fit to the cabin light screw holes to support the tips , saw it in a fishing msg once,
Not at this stage but once I get it back after the warranty claim I'll look at putting a couple of hooks to ratchet some pelican cases on but I don't want to much because at this stage I can pull up and be in bed within 2-3 minutes and don't want to extend that lol
I guess it probably would have helped us if you popped up your set up in the first place, where you have or havent got space etc etc etc, i wouldnt have had to stay awake all night racking by single brain cell for ideas and searching for stuff!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahaha
ok then, how about making up something like these

bolt this onto the top edge of your roof rack cage

I'm sure this one will be totally legal and a bargain to boot

Does this clear it up a little..
Put your rods in a PVC tube and pack it with foam dust proof to boot.
Shite years ago when I went rock fishing with dad down Phillip Island way
,we just tied them to the passenger side door handles, 59 FC wagon
you can buy zip up rod hold carriers that allow you to keep your reel on,
If he poked some foam rubber down the pvc his rods wont bounce especially if they are in their bags
Google would be his friend but they wouldn't be cheap,
Better still take telescopic rods they collapse to nothing and come in different sizes
Cable tie them to your high lift jack mate. You generally won't be using that. I bet you use your fishing rods more than the highlift. If you have to carry the high lift you might as well make it useful.
Thank guys for all your help.

Similar to how I explained before.
Once my roof rack is on I'll get some of those clamps.. But I don't carry them full time..
12' beach rod for tailor ?
If so rig your line with a swivel that can pass thru your rod tip. Use & make up some traces with snap swivels for fast rigging up & changes.
This will allow you to remove your reel, stow it out of all harms way with your fishing tackle ( you still have to get the tackle box etc out of the car When fishing )
It wii take only a minute to attach the reel & rig up !
Carry your rod on the roof & travel with it mounted butt fiorward to avoid broken rod tips.
A rod without a reel mounted is much easier to accommodate IMO YMMV
