Okay, then, let me rephrase that, as I sleep in the back of the Old Trol. Do we have to book sites in the Otways?

G'day Trendsetters,
You folks choose a day, i will make myself available to suit you!
PS, looking forward to meeting those that can make it!
Kind regards,
RLI & family
Thats not how it works.... you set a day and they will come otherwise it just goes back and forth.
I have learnt from organizing a few meet ups.
No wait, it's a democracy, let's put a poll on, or vote, or wait, or.......just hang on for a minute :)
Sorry guys, been in a meeting all night.
OK!!!!! Date set!
The day trip will be Sunday 5th January.
I am happy to help organise an overnight for those wanting to camp at Dandos for Saturday 4th.
Note that it is likely the weekend before the traditional back to work Monday and there may be quite a crowd at Dandos that night.
How many looking for a camp over?
Post here and I will start a new thread tomorrow or Wednesday
I'll be camping two nights, I hope.
Yeah a long way to come and I get back from my family trip late on the 2nd so I would have to leave the next day to head down that way.... madness down that way that time of year!!!!
I will have to see how I feel after my family trip so it is going to be a last minute decision.
I know how to get to gellibrand will find a map of the area
I am tempted to cross the border and come along to this one as its only 730Km from home.
Noticed it is shown on Google Maps.
Farkkkk you should talk, you two headed prick. lol
Regards,
RLI
If you are camping at DANDOS, bring your own dunny. There are drop toilets but they will be foul considering it will be just after Christmas / new years. We where last Aust day and they where bad.
Good place for kids with bikes.
( I just organised a club trip there for Aust day)
Will be dry and dusty if no rain, with some bog holes in the damp locations,
We found 1 track Aust day that took us 4 hours to cover less then 1 km it was full of bog holes. But mostly dry tracks
As some will be traveling quite some distance I'm assuming this is more of a catchup than 4WD trip on the Sunday. If that's the case I'll bring some grandkids with me and try and convince my wife to come along.
Darren I assume you'll be traveling via Colac, I'll probably catch up with you guys on the way and tag along. We can confirm closer to the date.
Suggesting dandos was just an example not a plan, it might not be the ideal campsite depending on which tracks Darren decides to do. sorry Darren I may have buggered your plans with my previous post.
Is this meet up still going to happen??
Cheers mate, I might actually still be down mornington pens way around there and could throw my patrol on the ferry to queenscliff...nice!!!
Have,nt heard from paul yet (rli) hope he,s ok and is still thinking of this trip
Paul (RLI) is doing it pretty tough with his treatment at the moment, he'll be online when he feels up to it. When I last spoke with him the trip was a goer, I'll give him a call and post an update.
I spoke to Paul on Monday seeking advice about my immobiliser trouble. Too be honest he did not indicate that he wasn't coming but I had a it on my plate so it was oly a quick call. He did not mention not coming so its on guys.
Sorry guys, I have just got soooo much on at the moment I have not given this another thought other than knowing the date.
The Date is set around Paul RLI so we are working around that.
Dandos is not a bad spot to camp but there may be allot of campers there still then. It's the last weekend before many will go back to work so it could be emptying out by then. It's a big spot though.
I will likely be heading down for the day from Geelong. Yes most likely heading through Colac so can pick folks up there. A Meetup point cold be Waurn Ponds for those in Melbourne and Geelong.
Those camping should packup on Sunday morning and travel with your gear as we will head East from there and not get back to the area. Those staying Sunday night can get back easily though.
If people would prefer a family day and BBQ though then somewhere closer to Geelong and some easy tracks through the Anglesea Heath could be good too. Will be way way less driving to get there and some nice spots to camp.
Let me know what folks want to do.
Hope that helps.
