Nice work pezzer. Hope both vehicles start first go.
How did you go removing the branch spigot from the efi system? I've got a spare lying around, will probably replace mine in the near future.

Once I had the replacement I cut the original so I could use a 24mm socket and bar and it cracked instantly, to refit the new one I had to remove the bolt securing the Auto gearbox dip stick and twist it out of the way. To get a good seal I wrapped pink gas ptfe tape around the threads, job well done. I have now pulled the dash from the Maverick, much easier after removing the Patrol dash learnt a lot. tomorrow the complete loom will be removed from the Maverick. Still need an Idea for an external fuel pump as I do not want to pull the long range tank out to access the original.
Wiring loom transfers complete started plugging up so far only non compatible plug is 1 of the front door plugs both sides, and Patrol has an extra sensor in the radiator.
Plug up continues, the steering pump on the Patrol has a plug on the side where as the Maverick does not unsure of what this does maybe a level sensor. I will connect the battery before putting the main dash frame and front grille back and check what I can all the parts to fire up the now carby Patrol are in place except for the wiring from the gas tank of which is also being swapped.
Hoped that someone would of posted me info on an external pump to use with the Efi on the Maverick, no seems to have commented on this forum for a while.
Sorry pezzer, have been reading but not posting. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for the external fuel pump setup you're after. My power steering pump has that sensor you speak of, but the wires have broken off. Hasn't had any effect on running performance, might be just as you suggested, a level sensor.
Oh that's promising news as I do not want to swap them over. Went to hook up the throttle cable on the carby but found that the efi uses a longer one so I had to swap them over, easy with the dash out. I think that I will use the front door looms out of the Patrol saves cut and soldering, I will have to make a bracket to suit the ECU and locate it in the passenger foot well as was its position in the Patrol. I might look at dropping the Long range tanks on both vehicles, just hope the one in the Maverick has a cut out for the ion tank pump?
Okay today dropped both lpg tanks, and now have access to the rear looms. I managed to feed both looms back and over the rear left hand wheel on top of the chassis only to hit the next problem on both vehicles., The patrol has a lead going across to the Long Range fuel tank I believe this is to the relocated in tank fuel pump of which I am hunting for. BUT whom ever installed the tank used a nut and bolt (14mm) through the chassis with no access to hold the bolt with a spanner etc, so tomorrow off to a Fab shop and get someone to heat a spanner up and bend it in the hope that this will hold the bolt from spinning. Oh yes had to drop the Towbar to access the lpg tank cradle.
The Maverick, how handy is the 50mm lift to get access great. BUT this lpg tank has been plumbed up with copper pipe, and has been run behind the rear chassis cab mount, this in turn prevents the loom with plugs being pulled through, so now I need the free a stubborn nut on the body mount and raise the cab with the jack whilst the loom is removed. The next step is to strip the fuel pump leads from the Patrol loom and unite it with the Maverick loom and then reinstall both looms, The Maverick Long Range fuel tank is yet to be dropped, just hope it has an access for the pump. I will then refit the gas tanks, whilst swapping filler necks as at the moment the Maverick has an under body filler.
Just a quick note wiring crossing the chassis in front of rear diff is not to the tank as first thought its to the rear sway bar release unit. Bothe fuel tanks on each vehicle have the same aperture for pump and sender.
Today re making the rear looms shortening the Lwb and lengthening the shorty. There were 3 differences in the looms firstly the Efi loom has pump and sender in the same plug Maverick sender only, Efi loom has sway bar Disconnect ( still uncertain wether to move this complete unit over as there is nothing hindering access to it with the tanks out etc. Lastly the rear Efi lefthand light loom (not bumper lights) has only a 6 pin plug and a 4 pin plug where the Maverick has an 8 pin, on checking the colour codes I found that the 6 pin had a Purple with white trace where the Maverick uses Pink so I decided to colour match with the Pink from the 4 pin plug and have left the Purple wire along the new loom just in case. I have re run all wiring from the Lpg tanks to the heaters (the Maverick only had a hand valve to shut off the tank, whereas the Patrol has an auto cutoff), hence the swap.
Next problem the Patrol tank with the in tank pump has an extension piece attached to the tank to allow for the extra 50mm of depth on the unit. My intension is to remake the pump and sender unit shorter to fit into the Maverick tank with out having to have the tank welded. The Patrol fuel tank has be re fitted with the Maverick sender unit and relocated back in position under the vehicle, best chance to re run the new made up rear loom whilst the Lpg tank is out.
Well today I cut and shut the Efi Pump sender unit by 68mm and managed to fit it snuggly into the Maverick fuel tank, fitted new Fuel injection hoses and rust protected the top and upper sides of the tank before refitting to vehicle. Tomorrow I will be hooking up the battery on the Patrol to check the looms whilst there is still access if all goes well I will fire up the Patrol. The Lpg will be fitted to the Maverick during the day and as the parts have now arrived from Patrolapart (water hoses and pipes that sit under the Plenium chamber]I will start to fit the Efi inlet manifold up on to the Maverick could be on the Home run.
Pulled passenger door loom out of Patrol and swapped with Maverick loom, fitted Lpg tank to Maverick just need a short gas line made to connect up. Reinstalled the blower fan and steel dash frame into Patrol, front passenger side now all together just centre dash console and drivers area to go and fit new gas switch and swap drivers door loom removing the rear window wiring as not required in the Shorty. Then its just connect the filler nozzle from the maverick onto the Patrol pour in some fuel hook up the battery and fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!.
Finally first car back together. will run up tomorrow.
Excellent news pezzer! Hope it starts for ya.
Patrol battery on, all working as should be, cranked it over all good just need fuel to run. I will rewire the stereo up tomorrow and that vehicle is done, I will swap the dual piston callipers with the Mavericks single piston type next weekend I would like to know though is it a straight swap as I already have 17 inch rims so clearance should not be an issue.
All the dash and centre console are back in the Maverick I will make good the inside before putting the Efi manifold etc back as I am outside and they keep saying showers. Hoping to fire the Maverick up around Thursday.:xxxx:
Quick note the instrument clusters are set up with a 6 pin 3rd plug on the Maverick compared with an eight pin on the Patrol, so decided to just swap over.
Hi I have just got all the efi gear back and found a set of pipes and hoses with a sensor attached that obviously fits up under the inlet manifold. I have taken many pics whilst dismantling but missed this section so could someone point a camera up under the inlet manifold and snap a few pics to help me out ASAP.
Hey pezzer, unfortunately that thing, which I think is called an air valve is an absolute nightmare to reach unless you pull the manifold off. Here's some pics from when I had my manifold removed. Hope they help you out.

If you need pics of where the two hoses plumb to, I'll run out and grab a couple when I can. Hopefully you have an electrical plug without a home floating around.
That's the piece, pic of where the pipes go would see me finish the refit, thanks Parksy.
All the hoses are now hooked up and all plugs are connected only the air box and ancillaries to go. I keep wondering wether to swap over the power steering pump just so the loom can be plugged up to it, I think that I will recheck what is involved tomorrow. What I need to know now is where to hook the Moreys Head Lube hose too, after swapping the Lpg tanks I decided to sand blast and re powder coat the stone guard, glad I did as the underside looks really good. Hopefully I will swap the brake callipers over Fri/Sat
Attachment 32370Quick check this morning and found that the only part on the power steering to be swapped is the flow pipe as this has the fitting attached to it that plugs into the loom, so easier to remove both lines together.
Found that the Patrol Radiator had a second sender in the top, whereas the Maverick did not , so pulled the radiator and getting a fixing fitted to the radiator tomorrow and will have all under bonnet swap over completed. Hope fully if all goes well turn key Friday.
At last.
1 petrol (carbie) / Lpg Patrol.
1 Petrol (Efi) / Lpg Maverick.
Top job, Pezzer.
