The FERRET Tyre deflator and FERRET rear worklight brackets.

Hi Folks, I've been busy today for a change, thought I'd have a go at a TELESCOPIC light bracket, this is a prototype, made of stainless and ally and steel for the door mountings.
This is what I have come up with so far so let me know if you are interested and I'll make some more.
Price will be around $150 for starters. Light not included,

The extension is a ripper idea mate!!!

Product looks tops mate, brilliant design.. I haven't looked but will this space the tyre off the door far enough to fit a 35" tyre?

I'd say so, this one is a 25mm spacing, but you could have more, say 30 0r 40mm, most of my brackets are 25mm and seem to take the 33s and 35s ok.

Have you got any of the EGR shims for a CRD (2010) knocking around? I'm also after a deflator (my ABR staun knock-offs are too slow), only needs posting as far as Perth

Another new design light bracket for fishing or worklight, this one SWIVELS, has a stainless lock screw, rotates 360 deg (depending on the size of your light), comes with all new longer bolts etc. The top is welded in, so ratbags can't just undo the screw and walk off with ya light.
Heavy duty STEEL construction. $90 plus postage.

I was going to ask you about a
Swivel top rod but i forgot. Glad you were thinking the same thoughts.

Just recently bought light bracket off Rod and its fantastic. Recommend them to anyone thinking about it.

I also just got a light bracket off Rod (haven't put pics up yet) and they are a fantastic product and fast delivery!!!

Well originally my earth was just going to be behind the light, straight onto the work light bracket. This however didn't work because the bracket wouldn't earth due to the paint I'm guessing. So I had to run an earth wire down to the bolt that holds it onto the door. So this was a bit of an after thought and considering the trouble I had getting 1 wire through the bracket I wasn't about to take it all off and fiddle around with it after the busy day I had haha!

If I'm feeling extra motivated, I could take it all off and feed the earth wire through the holes because I left enough wire to do so. I'm just happy it's working :D

Ha ha, If you bring the earth from inside the door out to the mounting bolt then it should be earthed, then hook the earth at the top to the light bolt, then run just the positive through the bracket to the light. works in theory anyway, LED's only need a 4mm cable anyway, or even smaller. onya Tim.

Yeah it's still a beauty! Now I'm just going to make a swivel joint on the top with a locking pin. Haven't put pen to paper yet but I'm sure there's something you can buy in bunnings. Will be handy to be able to spin the light to the left or right.

Hi All, I've come up with another style of rear light bracket, this one swivels at the top.
It will fit either side of the wheel carrier, the light can also be aimed into the rear of the vehicle.
These are available now at $80 plus postage, all bolts and washers supplied. (not the light)

This is how I ran the wiring to my rear work light (GU) without having to drill through the rear door panel.

I cut a hole in the bottom left of the plastic trim and just ran the wiring from the light pole across to the trim (between the spare wheel and door) in through the trim and then just into the original harness going into the body (near the hinge).

I was able to run a 5 core wire harness by doing this and have no problems with dust or water entry.

This is the 2nd GU I have done it this way with no problems.

I was able to remove this set up from my first GU when I sold it and you were unable to tell it was even there.

Rod sorry for the thread hijack but I thought some people might be like me and not like the idea of drilling a hole in their panel.

my GU has'nt got that strip I don't think. With the GQ you need to drill a hole.

Mine is just colour coded to the vehicle.
