Yeah I really hate those things. Make heaps of mess and a bit of overkill for a small sticker. Best bet I'd to lift a little on the edge (10mm) just enough to get a grip with your fingers then pull really slowly, rather than using a scraper. This way most of the adhesive comes with the sticker. Turps for the remaining adhesive.Quote:

Used a caramel wheel to remove a 10 year old triple pin-stripe approx 1 metre long off door .
Mess, nothing a dustpan couldn't handle easily.
Someone saw a need for a tool to help remove stickers.
How many times do ya think pulling stickers by hand have.
Lifted paint from panel with it.
Stickers can and do break into pieces.
Hard to start lifting so you grab the trusty blade to start again, scratch/chip paint.
Not trying to backup my claim, just help present all methods, that's all.

That's cool mate. I do it for a living. Just did an old cr@ppy van yesterday. Full graphics the entire length both sides. Probably more than 15 years old. Did it by hand. The paint was so shot that a caramel wheel would have gone thru it in an instant. They're good for some things for sureQuote:

I just removed my "ST 4500" sticker last week, while i have used the heat gun razor type method for many stickers over the years, the GU ST 4500 factory stickers are NOT your standard vinyl sticker, they are very thin, its almost like a screen printed laminate, and when aged, will rip off in small bits instead of one continuous piece.
You can use a wet polish as a blade lube against the paint, but still risk damage, definatley the Caramel Wheel was by far the best and safest/easiest option. :biggrin:
