Yeah the TD's are the more expensive option & can take some time to track down but they do turn up & the extra cost is far cheaper then an engine replacement in a ZD30.
That being said there is many out there that say as long as you keep them well maintained & do a few preventative mods that reduce the risks associated with the ZD's then you wil get a good run out of one.
All of the info on the prevention mods for the ZD's can be found in our manuals section under "reference document" if you want to take a look & the members here are always willing to help so start shopping around & keep us posted & if you have any questions like this then by all means just ask.

hi there , my brother in law had a bus company(picking up disabled kids for school] running 4.2d, 2.8 toyotas, in mini vans and small buses, the 4.2s some on 800,000 kms , reliable as , except for clutches, 2.8 d got hi kms as well cheers barry
