Yeah I thought about that. But I’d have then make a tube front bar so it would match, then my Patrol would just be more cop bait and down here we don’t need anymore of that. I’d love to be able to have the skills to make my own bar. The ones on the market now I reckon have too much weight on them.Quote:

One thing I have learnt from helping a mate build barwork over the last few years at his shop, is that many of the same brand, year etc are different. To get it right every time barwork has to be built on the vehicle. It's surprising as the differences are bugger all. But, it is the difference between fitting nicely, poorly or not at all.
You can make a tube bar with sheet metal inserts to fill in the gaps. It's only for aesthetics so it can be light and if it is well thought out it can be very subtleQuote:

From memory steel thickness, and the way it was powder coated , didn't appear to be too good.
Also im not an expert welder , but the welds appeared very ordinary in contrast to others ...
However , others were fair bit more $$$.
Having 3-4 different brand under same roof , to compare them just about side by side, was enough to tell where you're spending the extra $.
I'm looking at the Kaymar Ozbar personally.

It doesn't line up properly, when I rang them about it they said 'just force it over'. Bit hard when the braces are hard against the chassis. The Jerry can holder welds have broken several times, hubby's reinforced it, which has added extra weight. It also vibrates loose constantly, so I leave it off. The whole Bar vibrates like a bastard and I had to make my own nut to hold on spare wheel. Close the spare wheel and it moves the whole Bar. Id save longer and get better quality.Quote:

Guy has a bullbar on his new lux and it's always coming loose. They have a welded eyelet that they say is a rated recovery point. I don't know much about them, but enough not to buy from them
