Interesting, so your belt squeal was from the Alternator? did you try Soap or Lubricant on the belt? was it a slip noise or a squealing running noise if that makes sense. @rusty_nail this might be your trouble bud.

Yeah Jaycar sell it. I love using it. Works really well. Just buy a small tube of it though. It will last forever. When using it, squeeze a little out and give it a good mix up prior to application. Works better this way if you do. It is messy though as Darren has said.
Gotta be extra careful with the liquid tape as it will go off in the tin or tube. Try sealing it in a bag with the air sucked out.
I bought the small can of it and expected the lid to have a brush hanging off it like other adhesives. It was junk. In hindsight I would buy a small disposal brush for the application and throw it away on a job by job basis and I reckon G it would be a great product.
Can anyone spare me 30 mins of their time this morning, seems Ive really hurt myself yesterday.
I'll be unable to put it back together at this stage. I keep falling down ,,,not a good look lol
Oh the reason for all this in the first place was after starting the Patrol my volt meter showed
11.9 volts same at the back of the Alternator, then I noticed the broken wire while I was removjng
the Alt. I might use some 5min araldite on the plug, we'll see.
Years ago we found that 5 minute araldite to be electrically conductive, so make sure you don't have glue connecting the wires together or to earth.
any one know the trick to move the belt tensioner, Ive a 600mm brako bar with a 19mm socket and I cant move it at all
At least the alternator is in, sweating like a pig atm, warming right up now.
nah cant do it on my own Ill need a hand if anyone can help.
Alternators in all I need a hand with is getting the belt on,
after that Im fine with putting the rest togather, too painful
leaning over the guard in into the engine bay.
Any help would be great
