$900 for the internal bearing sounds way too dear. I would've imagined you can get a brand new compressor for that price.
Then you still have to get the system flushed, lubricated and regassed at an A/C shop.

You can get them for that price haha, if we are talking about the bearing behind the clutch then its an easy job all you need is a puller and a press make its easier. or a good hammer. Use the puller to pull the clutch off the front, undo the circlip then pull off the pulley, then press bearing out of pulley go to bearing shop and purchase then reverse install :) Should be $50 max
My clutch bearing was $65.
But the actual pump which is being replaced is about $1000.
Genuine is about $1600
I can supply brand new compressors for around $800 mark some cheaper depending what model :)

I don't think the $900 quote is to replace a clutch bearing. Well I hope not.
