Then it must be the switch. Contacts might have become dodgy over many years.
Once a month for 20 mins isn't that bad, unless of course that 20 minutes happen to be on a long dark stretch in the middle of the pitch black night with no street lights, while you're doing 100+km/h.
Find it and fix it. Don't take any chances that are not worth it. Get a replacement switch from a wrecker. Cheaper and that way you can confirm the problem without spending a fortune.
I would agree with Dom as it being a faulty switch [Stalk]
Thats the one common denominator, its the only movable
part in the puzzle so to speak
Will be looking into this tomorrow.
1st up will swap over the globes, then take it from there.
Ok. Swapped over the globes and now the other side wont work, put them back as they were and its gone back to how it was.
So new globes......
Do i stick with the halogen.
Do i get something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400562055...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
HID convervion
LED??????
I also have one new about 6 month old headlight. The other one is old and dirty, old doesn't worry me, but dirty does. What have poeple used to clean the inside of their headlight and what kind of results did you get.
Dont go HID I did and regret it now they are too hot for the plastic reflectors.
Any of the Phillips Vision plus would work I had 110/90 at one time and found them to work great.
Not convinced LED have the distance yet on high beam
Have you tried playing with the plugs/sockets to see if that's the culprit?
They are pretty cheap to replace. I even have a few spare ones at home that I ordered from China for few peanuts.
They are good quality. Just cheap 'cos it came from china.
If you want them, let me know via a PM.
Don't fit high wattage globes (100/90 etc) to the standard loom.
They pull twice the current and will give your stalk switch a hard time.
I use Narva +100 in the standard wattage and they are pretty good.
Having said that, a loom upgrade and relays is a really good idea and cheap
I was going to put 90W globes on mine. ATM, they are 60W ones.
The reflector is an aftermarket one(obviously 'cos the stock ones are sealed lenses).
It should be able to handle the 90W globe without having to upgrade the loom, should it not??!!
I don't need to wire up a relay for that, do I??
